Happy, happy August, friends! Or second week of August, I should say. I hope you had a fabulous weekend, and aren’t dragging too much today. I don’t know about you, but July was a whirlwind, don’t you think?! This Summer break has just flown by, and it’s hard to believe we only have a few short weeks before the return of the dreaded packed lunch! #Iloathepackinglunches

Some weeks days it seems I’m doing nothing but chasing a To Do List, or playing catch-up, so it’s nice to take a moment each month and look back at the projects and content I managed to create. Hopefully we’re all spending a little less time online this Summer, so here’s a quick catch-up of the top posts from July.

I’ve worn this white midi skirt so many times, I decided to share a {3 Ways} around it.
Even I was shocked by how many style options it has!
The port of call recaps from our Mediterranean cruise continued, with the charming
coastal town of Sitges, Spain.
Formal Nights are always my favorite on the cruise ship, and this floral maxi was
a stunner. I didn’t want to take it off!
The kids and I had a Popsicle Challenge, each making any flavor we could
dream up…Peach Cobbler was the family favorite.
Mr. SP & I had a casual Date Night, featuring some darling shorts styles. But really the ridiculous outtakes of our jumping was the highlight.

I sang the virtues of peep-toe booties, by styling them for Now & Later.

We had the chance to partner with PillowFort for Target, and Little Miss
got a darling new Study & Lounging Nook. With this area complete, we’re thisclose
to finishing her room makeover!

Last month also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries…this time, featuring both my darling mom and daughter. I’m thrilled y’all loved seeing the clothes on different body styles and ages, and hope to bring Mama SP back in the future!

I also threw in a couple of quick Five Under $50 and Easy Summer Styles, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.

(Sidenote: I also updated my Sugarplum Picks to reflect what I’m loving and wearing these days. You can check it out anytime using the shopping bag graphic in the sidebar.)
August is sure to be another fun one, with a family vacation, back-to-school, and some new home projects to consider! Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me!

You're a busy, hard working mom. Why not pass the lunch packing duty to your kids? I used to have my kids pretty much do for themselves anything they were capable of, just to instill responsibility. I still did plenty, of course! Just a thought.

    • You're totally right…I should put it on them. But what usually ends up happening is they buy their lunch instead, don't eat much of it, and come home starving! Maybe we'll start a new routine this year and I'll supervise them making their own lunches the night before!!?? xo

The fact that it’s already August makes me feel a little anxious and panicky. Summer break will be over soon, which means early mornings and busy schedules will crank back in. I just really wish I could slow down time…I’m all of a sudden acutely aware that we only have four short years left with our son at home! Can someone pass me a paper bag, I’m starting to hyperventilate.

Well, he is on week two of away-camp, so maybe the anxiety just comes from missing him. Or the PMS. Now that I think about it, I’m sure it’s the PMS. đŸ˜‰

Enough ramblings…today’s post is actually not about my monthly cycle, but a recap of the comings and goings, happenings and events at Sugarplum Casa in July.

Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} July
We spent a few days exploring Montana before my sister’s wedding…
it’s one of our country’s most beautiful areas.
Our backyard makeover continued with an updated Patio Dining Room.
Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} July
You guys went cuckoo for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale,
so I scoured the racks and shared tons of the best stuff
in a series of Dressing Room Diaries.
Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} July

The {Trip Reports} of our Alaskan Cruise continued with Skagway
a picturesque town and majestic countryside. Mr. SP and I were also treated to a
The LPD….little pink dress….styled two ways for {Day to Night}.

Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} July

If I were a dress, I’d be this dress. It was certainly my favorite look from the cruise!
and we haven’t even started the decorating part!
I’m hosting a fun, back-to-school event at the Container Store, and I’d love if you came out!!
I also introduced a new {Sugarplum Picks} series and page…click this image in the sidebar anytime for a round-up of my favorite items and what’s in constant closet rotation!

And finally, we had another round of everyone’s favorite Sugarplum Style.

August is set to be a another doozy as we celebrate Summer with one last trip, continue with room makeovers, and I finally get to reveal the big secret that had me dashing to NYC in June! Happy Monday, lovebugs…I hope it goes easy on you!

Great recap. I hear ya girlfriend. Some of the buses started rolling in our area today. My oldest had to report for pre-planning!! Too early in my opinion, but then again, they didn't ask me…or any parent for that matter!!! Hard to believe our baby starts grad school in two weeks. I may need to borrow that bag!!

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten July

Clearly I’m obsessed with black and white stripes, so I jumped at the chance to add them our backyard. Our Patio Makeover has been a hit this Summer.

Oh yes, you git in mah belly Fresh Peach Ice Cream!

I may look nonchalant posing on a busy urban street, but inside I’m dying. At least my {Outfit Inspiration} Hot Pink & Aqua is working.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten July

I attended the Haven Conference with some of my blogger-turned-real-life friends, and had a blast! Then I shared tips on what to pack for similar Girl’s Weekends.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten July

Have a tight spot that could use a little table for your drink? Grab two items from the garden department, and you have an adorable Patio Side Table!
Mr. SP and I ran off to Southern California for a long weekend…where we enjoyed the sites, and I opened my heart to forgiveness. (Warning: this post is mushy & emotional)
Ain’t nobody got time for $50 Pottery Barn towel racks…so I made my own Nautical Version for $10!

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten July

I added some glam and function to the patio with a simple {DIY} Bar Cart.
I got a little carried away by the props and {Outfit Inspiration} Cobalt & Aqua.
Watermelon + Feta + Basil = Perfect Summer Side Dish
I also shared my latest striped dress obsession, and styled it two ways for you. And my darling first-born became a teenager. #gulp I’ve got big ideas for August, including a complete room makeover!
