Festive Foods & Fun for the Fourth

Try saying that four times?! I know it’s a little cheesy, but I can never resist some good alliteration. And don’t get me started with rhyming…sometimes Mr. SP and I have battles to see who can come up with the most rhyming phrases in a conversation. Wow, that makes us sound like a barrel of fun. #sarcasm

Thanks so much for the love on my Fence Post! #punny #couldntresist I’m thrilled you guys are just as smitten for the horizontal. #twss I’m working on the patio area now, and hope to share it next week…so stay tuned for more fence pics.

For this week’s {Project Rewind}, I’m sharing a few festive posts from the galleries to inspire you for the holiday weekend…first up is this super easy, extra yummy, butter cake with jam filling. It’s really light too, so perfect for hot days. Check out more of my simple recipes, including ice creams and sorbets, and my favorite, Watermelon & Feta Salad.

The fourth of July is extra festive around here because it falls a few days after my son’s birthday…so he’s had more than a few patriotic-themed parties.

And don’t forget your festive outfit! Red, white and blue is a classic combination, but this time of year, I prefer to stick with pairing two of the three colors…just so I’m not mistaken for a flag. I’ll likely wear this maxi…but love these options, too. What are your plans this holiday weekend?
