Breezy Skirts | Day to Night

Cheers to Friday! I’m in total denial that it’s our final weekend of Summer break…I can hardly stand to think about sending my baby off to high school Monday!! #holdme

Let’s change the subject before I start hyperventilating. For today’s {Fashion Friday}, I’ve got another round of Day to Night for you…this time featuring this breezy ‘shirttail hem’ skirt.

Hi Sugarplum | One Skirt | Day to Night

I featured it on InstaGram a few times and it sold out fast…but I’ve rounded up some similar ones at the bottom of this post. I decided to go ahead and share these looks since the method of dressing it down for day, and up for night, is similar for most any skirt.

I found myself reaching for it repeatedly this Summer…the breezy shape and lightweight material made it perfect for our steamy days…in fact, just as cool and comfortable as shorts, but more chic.

Just like with this {5 Ways} post, I knotted my shirt to better define my waist, and add a bit more personality. I’ve also worn the skirt with this gingham top…but am showing it with a solid chambray for those of you who prefer a more toned-down mix of patterns.

The skirt has also received lots of play for {Date Night}, as well as, the recent blogger conference I attended. It would be pretty with these heels, but I liked the edgier vibe the striped tank and cage heels provided.

Colorful skirts make it fun, and easy, to pair accessories…but that doesn’t mean you have to stick with just those colors. I went with a bit of tone-on-tone with my clutch…I liked the look, but it also helped me pack light since I carried this clutch with my other outfits at the conference. (Which reminds me…I have a ‘Blogger Conference ~ What I Packed’ post planned!)

With all the traveling this Summer, we haven’t had our usual Maggie photobombs. I suppose that’s one good thing about the return of school…we’ll be home more with our youngest baby.

Do reach for skirts or shorts more in warmer weather? Happy weekend, lovebugs!

THANK YOU for doing this post! I looooove my skirt (actually plan on wearing it today!) and love seeing ideas on what to wear with it. I never would have thought gingham. Guess I need that gingham top I've been eyeing. Do you think nude shoes would work with it? I don't have any (your shoe collection is way cooler than mine ha!). all I can picture is the black gladiators I wear with it. I can't wait to wear it with my denim jacket this fall and maybe into the winter on mild days. It's Texas after all!

  3. A tad off topic: you should do a post on all the ways you've worn your pink gingham shirt. I LOVE that you wear things multiple times and multiple ways and every time I see you wear that shirt, I think, that Cassie has done it again! I just bought a green gingham shirt just like it and, while I'm not as creative with my outfit pairings as you are, I can see that it will work in a lot of different outfit scenarios!

Ok i am considering purchasing this skirt. My only concern is that the Nordstrom reviews are saying that I should wear a slip or Spanx. Is it that sheer? Thanks

    • I wear nude undies and haven't had any issues…or maybe I have, but just don't know it! šŸ˜‰ But seriously, it's airy, but doesn't feel sheer to me.

Love how colorful this skirt it and how you paired it. I can see that it would be very versatile with all the different colors.
