Sugarplum Style, Vol. 17

Well, I sent my (not so) littles back to school yesterday…it was bittersweet, for sure. I’m going to miss their sweet faces during our long days apart, but I suppose it was time for us all to get on a routine again.

Even though our Summer was a busy one, it didn’t involve a lot of new projects around the house…so I really appreciate you sticking with me! As the weather cools down, hopefully our productivity in the new house will heat up (beyond just the finished Kitchen and Master Bedroom!), so stay tuned for that!

Today is time for another Sugarplum Style…snapshots of my everyday outfits, created by mixing-and-matching items in my closet. However, it seems there was significantly less mixing this month since I reached for the same pieces almost daily!

It’s been a toasty August, but we still get the occasional breezy night…or so I tell myself so I can justify wearing my jean jacket. I’ve been carrying this tote as my everyday purse, and love the extra dose of color and fun. (See more of this romper here.)

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

I knew I wanted to wear this striped skirt for my Container Store event, but was undecided on which top…the votes on InstaGram leaned toward the floral. See what I ended up wearing here.

I think it’s fair to say pink is mah signature cullah. #namethatmovie

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

So I caved and bought my favorite go-to racerback dress in this fun new cobalty color…and promptly wore it 87 times. #tinyexaggeration But how can you deny an inexpensive, flattering dress that also allows room for tacos and dessert?!

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style
You know I’m a fan of making clothes work {Day to Night}…but don’t overlook the opportunity to wear those dressier pieces on really casual occasions, too. I usually pair this top with a skirt for work, but it was just as cute with cut-off shorts…and gave me the chance to wear it more often!

The new racerback dress also served as my cover-up last week while doing a little light beach reading. 😉

I loved this contrast of black and white, topped with a fun cap that tied it all together with the embroidered design on the front. You’ve probably noticed my affinity for hats in the Summer…any excuse to skip my normal hair routine!

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style
The striped skirt made another appearance, this time with a pop of leopard.

Denim + white tee is just about as classic and simple as an outfit can get….quintessential All-American, if you will. But throw on a touch of leopard and/or a fun accessory like these beaded tassel bracelets, and you’ve got yourself an effortlessly chic outfit.

You likely noticed these bracelets have been my go-to for adding personality to all my recent outfits…I’m mildly obsessed with them. I’m excited to share that you lucky ducks can now snag a trio of your very own beaded tassel bracelets for only $20! This deal is exclusively for Hi Sugarplum readers, just use code SUGARPLUM and the discount will be applied!

This skirt has been on repeat thanks to it’s breezy shape and material (see it {Day to Night} here). I’ve noticed it re-stocked on several occasions, so be sure to check if you’ve had your eye on it!

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

Yep, there’s those beaded tassel bracelets again! #cantstopwontstop #beachhairdontcare Are you convinced you need your own set yet? This exclusive deal is for Hi Sugarplum readers only, and expires next week…so scoop them up before they sell out! (Code SUGARPLUM gets you the set for only $20!)

Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

Well, this is almost embarrassing…same dress and tee again! I was trying them out with boots for Fall. Check out my tips for easy Fall transitioning here.
Hi Sugarplum | Sugarplum Style

I hope these posts inspire you to create new combinations from your closet! The key isn’t to have more clothes, but to mix up what you do have in new and different ways. Except for those new beaded bracelets, you’re going to need those.

You can catch up with past installments of Sugarplum Style here, or follow my everyday-style outfits on InstaGram. Make sure you’re following my Facebook page, too…that’s where I post deals, steals, sales and goodies!

As cute as always! I love the stripe skirt with floral top. And I NEVER would have guessed the top was OLd Navy when I clicked on it. It looks so silky and expensive when dressed up with that statement skirt. I alllllmost put my field jacket on the other day when it rained and the cloud cover paired with the a/c made the house cooler than normal feeling. Ha!

Incredible style sense as usual, I have loved following you this summer, although we do not have clothes with flair for women over 25 here in sweden (no nordström at all) it has been an inspiration. If you look hard it is possible to find clothes that are not white or gray =) Now summer is over here and warm raincoats and pants and cardigans is on the menu… Have a lovely end of summer!
