Top Ten | June

Happy, happy July, friends! I hope you had a fabulous long weekend, and aren’t dragging too much today. I don’t know about you, but June was a whirlwind, don’t you think?! Between traveling and Summer break, the days feel like they’re flying by. Heck, celebrating our son’s 15th birthday this weekend reminded me that the years are flying by even faster! #gulp

Some weeks days it seems I’m doing nothing but chasing a To Do List, or playing catch-up, so it’s nice to take a moment each month and look back at the projects and content I managed to create. Hopefully we’re all spending a little less time online this Summer, so here’s a quick catch-up of the top posts from June.

The Screened Porch is one of my favorite parts of this new house, so I have no idea why I waited so long to breathe life into it…but she’s all decked out now, and we love the extra time outdoors (thanks to the ceiling fan!) #babyitshotoutside
This striped skirt easily transitioned from Work to Weekend.
Can you believe this is my baby boy?! The four of us unplugged for a few days, and enjoyed some family time on a Weekend Getaway to the Woodlands.
Formal nights are my favorite on a cruise ship…I love the chance to dress up with Mr. SP.
Our Mediterranean cruise had six stops, but Provence, France was the most sentimental to me. It was one of my grandparents favorite places, so they were constantly on my mind as we wandered the cutest little villages & countryside.
Most of us have a white jacket of some sort buried somewhere in our closets…I encouraged you to dig it out in my {Five Ways} Little White Jacket.

On the second stop of our cruise, we visited the picturesque seaside town of Marbella, Spain.
I have this thing with old, colorful doors, and the ones in the Mediterranean just oozed character and charm. Most days you’d find me lurking in the best ones.

We made more progress in the Laundry Room Makeover, starting with some necessary organizing of the Laundry & Cleaning Supplies.
There were a bunch of re-stocks & new sale alerts on many of my favorite Summer pieces.
I recounted my experience with the foot peel, Baby Feet…and love hearing so many of you gave it a whirl, too. Your response to the insane amount of peeling cracks me up every time.

Last month also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries. Both of which have nifty little graphics in the sidebar, so you can catch up on them anytime. I also threw in a couple of quick Five Under $50 and Ramblings, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.

(Sidenote: I also updated my Sugarplum Picks to reflect what I’m loving and wearing these days. You can check it out anytime using the shopping bag graphic in the sidebar.)

July is sure to be another fun one, with more Ports of Call to recap, a big update in Little Miss’s Room, and Summer style inspiration! Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me!

Welcome back to reality! I hope you had a great long weekend…or maybe your weekend hasn’t ended yet! #luckyducks If you follow me on InstaGram, then you saw our shenanigans this weekend. Nothing like hurling your body through the air on a contraption built by your brother and his friend! Between that and reading the Nordstrom Anniversary Catalog, my heart rate had some serious spikes this weekend! (But seriously, how excited are you for this sale?! Who’s shopping the pre-sale starting Thursday??? #duh)

How is it freaking July!? I can’t believe we’ve already been on Summer break for a month!! Granted, it was a jam-packed, jet-setter month, full of amazing travels and unforgettable experiences…and we managed to squeeze a few projects in there, too.

In case you took an internet hiatus, here’s the {Top Ten} posts of June.

Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} June
Summer months mean my house is a revolving door of hungry kids.
Is yours like that? In an attempt to contain the madness, I overhauled the Pantry.
The Little Black Dress…a wardrobe staple.
I showed you how to take it {Day to Night} on the streets of New York.

Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} June

This month, I started my {Trip Reports} recapping our Alaskan cruise.
The excursion in Juneau was Bucket List material.
No question I have favorites in my closet, but I rarely wear them the same way twice.
Case in point, this cute striped number…styled {3 Ways}.
We continued our new series, Dressing Room Diaries, showing you real clothes
on a real girl. And Mr. SP providing his own input.
Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} June

Ketchikan was our first Alaskan stop, and the mountains, waterfalls, eagles,
and whales did not disappoint. Majestic is just about adequate a descriptor.
Of course I loved ‘formal nights’ on the ship, and jumped at the
chance to doll-up in this colorful maxi for {Cruise Style}.
Hi Sugarplum | {Top Ten} June

I love a leggy table, but don’t love the inevitable lamp cord they leave exposed.
From Alaska to Montana…can you even? The weather was almost as spectacular as
the landscape, so the romper saw a lot of action.
Our backyard got a major facelift in the form of a new horizontal fence.
Seriously…you have to see it. Who knew changing the direction of the board
would make such an impact?!
And finally, we had another round of everyone’s favorites, Look for Less and Sugarplum Style.

July is set to be a another doozy as I head out of town again, we start a new room makeover, Alaska and Montana re-caps continue…and for the love of Pete, I finally hopefully share our finished Kitchen! I hope you’ll follow along! Happy Monday, lovebugs…I hope it goes easy on you!

This year is officially half over. What in the?! How in the?! It’s been a fun and busy month around here, and in case
you took a really long nap (or maybe you’re just new to these parts), here’s a recap of my top posts for June.
Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 June
Colorful, cheeky art for my daughter’s room…all you need is felt and scissors!
A fresh new style for our Summer Mantel.
Baby got Showing some back in {Outfit Inspiration) Pink & Green.
Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 June
When I stage full-blown photoshoot with a new decor purchase, it usually means I’m smitten. This time it was a Moroccan Leather Pouf.
A chic Hola mat to greet your guests.
One $48 dress, styled five ways. Boom!
This nutjob and I celebrated our anniversary…so I shared our Love Story and His Proposal, in addition to our easy Date Night Style.
Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 June
Summertime means ice cream around here apparently, since I whipped up a batch of Mint Chocolate Chip, and got extra gluttonous with Ice Cream Sundae Cones.
After years of fretting over my grandparent’s rug, we finally welcomed something more our style!
And a new series was born….Sugarplum Style shows my everyday outfits.
I also shared a round-up of my favorite dresses, all under $50! Whew! That was a busy month…but you know what? June has nothing on what I’ve got planned for July! Happy Canada Day, lovebugs!

catch-up, here are some good places to start.

{Top Ten} June

June was a busy, fun month around here, with lots to celebrate. This month’s Top Ten is actually a few more than 10, but I figure none of you are the Blog Police, and you’ll let it slide. We welcomed some new readers, too, so this is a good chance for them to see what we’ve been up to.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten June Projects
Things got muy caliente (that’s very hot, for you non-Texans) with a Fiesta Cocktail Party I created for Pottery Barn. I didn’t win, but you guys kept me out of last place. #thankyouverymuch. I also shared my favorite, easiest-margarita-recipe-ever!
I organized the fridge, and shared some little nuggets on how I keep it tidy.
Pink & Orange outfit, obviously inspired by a bag of Skittles.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten June Projects

My giant mug was plastered to the cover of the Dallas Morning News. And I played with some washi.
More brightness, with Stripes & Floral.
Instead of sleeping on the ground, we had an afternoon Backyard Campfire Picnic.

Who’s not smiling while dining at this Cheery Summer Table?
My obsessive organizing continued in the garage, with the Tools and Paint.

We dedicated a whole week to the stache, in honor of Dad.

More sweating it out in the garage, this time it was the Sporting Gear and Yard Tools.
Are you mourning the loss of Google Reader? Here’s how to transfer all your favorite blogs (Ahem, Hi Sugarplum!) to Bloglovin’ and Feedly.

The Mudroom got more colorful, and a bit sentimental, with some Easy Canvas Art.
Remember that trip we took two months ago? Yeah, me neither. But I can wander the streets of Florence again, in this recap. I included some hotel and restaurant tips, too.

What’s your favorite kind of project to see over here? Have you got any big ones planned for the long weekend?

My friend Chris, who claims she’s Just A Girl, (but is clearly so much more!), was recently on a European Adventure! I pretended to be happy for her while commandeering her blog.
I’d love for you to pop over and say Hi!
