Holla for Friday! It was only a few weeks ago, but it seems a lifetime since we were cruising the Gulf of Alaska with Princess. The ports of call were definite highlights of the trip (see the first one here), but I was surprised by just how much we loved our time spent on the ship….especially formal nights.
Mr. SP groaned a little about being required to dress up, but they turned out to be his favorites, as well. We don’t have the opportunity for frequent date nights at home, and when we do, they are usually pretty casual…so to have a reason to get dolled-up, not to mention, a place to go, was a fun treat. I jumped at the chance to wear this colorful maxi dress, and Mr. SP made me feel like the belle of the ball.

The dress flows beautifully when I walk, and has a delicate chain neckline that makes it extra special. It also rolled up small without wrinkling, so was perfect for packing!
Update: I’ve had some requests for hair-styling tutorials…well, you’re in luck! I happen to have one here!

We had two formal nights on board, so to conserve space in my suitcase, I packed the same nude sandals, clutch, and jewelry for each look. (I wore this dress the other formal night…I’ll show you more soon.) I adore the new mother-of-pearl option in my favorite earrings and ring…they add some bling to the outfit, without overpowering the bright colors of the dresses. And they are just darn pretty! I may need it in my favorite tassel necklace, too!

With wedding and graduation season upon us, I’ll have plenty of opportunities to wear this colorful number again. And the bonus is it allows plenty of room for dessert! If you’re in the dress market, check here for dresses under $100, and these are all under $50! #score Happy weekend, lovebugs!
