Happy September, friends! How was your long weekend? Today we’re spending the day at sea, making our way from Glasgow to the Ornkey Islands. Sea days are actually one of my favorite parts about cruising…a whole day and night of relaxing and enjoying all the amenities of the ship.
I’ll share our trip on the blog, but I post our days in real-time on my Instagram Story, along with Mr. SP’s daily shenanigans you don’t see here.
Today we’re taking a look back at August, and the top posts of the month. It’s nice to take a moment each month and look back at the projects and content I created, and take note of what you liked most. In case you took an internet hiatus, here’s a peek of what you might have missed on Hi Sugarplum last month…
We took our annual trip to Anna Maria Island with friends, and had the absolute best time. I shared our week on the island here, and everything I packed and wore here.
Black floral is perfect year-round, and I styled this gorgeous blouse (on sale!) for both Work and Weekend.
I rarely travel without a hat, and while sometimes I just carry it on the plane, packing it is much less hassle. My method for packing is simple, takes up virtually no additional room, and ensures your hat arrives in perfect condition!
It was a busy month for home projects, as well! We revealed Little Miss’s completed room, and the progress and plans for our Guest Room! We found those beds for an amazing price!
We wrapped up the Summer of Style series, with darling stripes and tassels, a date night look featuring Kendra Scott’s new collection, and some amazing finds on Amazon. Or you can see the entire season at a glance in this post.
My favorite post of the month (and every year!) was the kid’s Back-to-School! I love sharing their personality and styles on the blog. I’ve been blogging almost nine years, so many of you have literally watched them grow up!
J.Crew introduced gorgeous new florals for transitioning to fall, but I couldn’t wait and styled them two ways for Summer.
We also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries, featuring tons of new finds, and recent outfits (including another Amazon Haul). I also threw in a Faves Under $50, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.
Striped Ruffle Neck Top | White Jeans | Sandals | Hoop Earrings
Gingham Top | Frayed Hem Jean | Sandals
As for the most popular styles, these are the Top Ten items y’all shopped last month. Did any of them make your favorites list?

And finally, it was such a treat to see our Dining Room appear in the pages of HGTV Magazine!! They featured our colorful room in their wallpaper story of the September issue. Thanks so much to all of you who spotted it and reached out, too!! You’re just the sweetest!!
September is already a busy one with our trip through the British Isles, followed by another big trip with Mama Sugarplum and family! Lot’s of travel and fall style coming your way. Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me!
here are some good places to start:
What a great variety of posts this August! I must say, my favourite item on you still has to be the black scallop top. It’s so cute! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed hi sugarplum! in August. You looked spectacular in everything, and florals were my favorites, along with Little Miss and her cute smile:) Can’t wait for you to return from your British Isles cruise and share your uplifting views, insights, and sight-seeing tips and photos. You do so much for your fans, and even continue to post on your blog while on a cruise ship! Thank you!
I always love your round ups to take a look back at all of your awesome content! Now come home. This is just getting silly.
Mr. Sugarplum is stealing the show on your Insta-stories! Between his take on accents and his stunning piano playing, he needs to be featured more often! BTW, the annual “talk like a pirate day” is coming up Wednesday Sept 19 (since some of your Irish readers felt his Irish accent was more pirate and less Irish), maybe you can feature him again teaching us all how to talk like a pirate.
