Well, the day has finally come that Little Miss has agreed her room is ‘finished enough’ to share! I’d normally say the makeover is ‘complete,’ but nothing with my little creator is ever complete!
Duvet | Art | Happyland Pillow | Rug
artwork | garland | lumbar pillow
While the accessories are bold, we kept the core of the room classic so it will easily grow and transition with her. We stumbled on this Jonathan Adler fabric a few years ago, and knew the mix of colors would be so fun for pulling everything together. We had just enough for drapes, and had them made from a local tailor (they are much more affordable than custom upholstery and drapery companies!), using these RITVA panels as lining.
Kallax Shelves (see how we added wheels here)
Two years ago we created a study area in a nook just outside her room (see it here)…but she quickly outgrew that little desk, and needed more privacy…so now she has a larger, sturdier space for all her homework and creative sessions.
The gallery wall is a collection of her own artwork! Most pieces are just tacked up so she can swap them out as new masterpieces are created. I love the bright white walls to allow her artwork to pop, and the blue ceiling accents the tall pitched shaped.
Desk and Drawer Set | Desk Swivel Chair | Sheepskin Throw | Task Lamp with Charging Port
She feels very official in her tall desk chair, plus it’s comfy for long sessions at her desk. Middle School is serious, y’all! The HEKTAR task lamp also includes a USB port, so she can charge devices at her desk without extra outlets.
Task Lamp with Charging Port | Wall Organizer Rail & Buckets
We scoured the internet for desks, and ultimately loved the flexibility of building our own. The LIMMNON comes in a variety of sizes and combinations, and is surprisingly sturdy! You can customize the top and legs, and even add drawers!
Her bathroom has the same white walls, and the cabinets mirror the blue of her ceiling.
She loves collecting treasures, and this little wall shelf from Target is perfect for keeping them corralled.
Oversized Shams & Pillow Inserts
‘love first’ tee | jean shorts
A happy space with room to create, learn, and grow for our precious Little Miss! See our son’s teen room here, and more of our house here.
Almost There! (new bedding & lamps)

I love the room! It’s so bright and colourful, what a great place for working! The drawings on the wall are the cutest. 🙂

What an artist!! The room is great but the art work is amazing!! What a talent!!
It’s adorable, bright, and happy, just like Little Miss!
The antique bed on caster/rollers=brilliant!
This is PERFECTION! My favorite part is the art!!!
Love how bright and colorful the room is. Can tell it totally reflects your daughter’s personality. Think I need that desk for my daughter’s room. Love it!!
The “HAPPYLAND” pillow makes me smile every single time I see it. I love her whole room. All of the bright colors and pom poms are totally her, and the personal art is awesome!
It turned out so colorful and cute! I love the desk chair! I’ve been searching for an affordable chair and this might be it- with the rug on it, too, of course!!
Sweetness everywhere! I also think the art work is fantastic! Your Little Miss is very talented. This is a happy place:)
Great room! Where did the “Happyland” pillow come from?
We found that at Decorator’s Best several years ago!
It came out so perfect!!
Love how it turned out! It’s so bright and happy! And Little Miss is quite the artist!
Your daughter’s artwork is FANTASTIC! Definitely the best part of a great room 🙂
FanFreakenTastic!!!!!! I couldn’t love this room more. Is there a shower in her bathroom? Fabric curtain or glass door?
Yes, she has a shower with a fabric curtain…a colorful one, of course! 😉
What a happy space! Where is the gold, circular shelf from? There was no link provided.
Thank you! The shelves are from Target!
BRAVO Cassie! Sloan’s room is the SWEETEST! I love how you’ve incorporated her artwork and that she has the flexibility of removing/adding new stuff! What a great idea to use a local laylor to hem your drapes! AND the gold circular wall shelf is genius for holding all of her “treasures” ! I know she loves coming home to her colorful yet calm room & new “big girl” desk!!
This is truly a happy space. Her art wall is the most fun. She is so talented in so many ways.💕
What color and brand of white paint did you use? I’m looking for a good, true, simple white without lots of undertones.
It looks great! But, I’ve got to ask…we’re you able to pick up your large items from IKEA or did you have them shipped to you? We’ve ordered several large storage-type items and a love seat from ikea to use in classrooms at school this year. Their delivery service has been terrible. Items received long (two weeks) after their promised delivery date, hard to find tracking and order numbers, etc. It has been super frustrating…and school started yesterday.
*were, not we’re🤪
Love this room! What color blue paint did you use on the ceiling?
Thank you! It’s Sherwin Williams ‘Raindrop’
Oh wow! What a fun, happy room! Her artwork is the best part! I especially love the tree frog!
Do you have a link to the pompom garland?
Yes ma’am…I love that garland!! http://shopstyle.it/l/QOHo
I love her room so much!!!!! Such a happy, inspiring place! My favorite parts might be the yellow dresser and her blue vanity. Whenever I see your gorgeous color filled home it makes me question my neutral one!
Ha! Your gorgeous neutral home makes me question my colorful one!!
Very fun yellow color and upside down hardware dresser.
Love that you are surrounding her with her art
Such a pretty room! Where is the yellow chest from?
Hi there! It belonged to my grandparents, and we painted it! xo, C
