Best of 2017 | Travel

I loved every second of 2017 (okay, there were a few rough patches…so almost every second), and one of the biggest reasons was because of all the travel opportunities. Between blogger conferences, brand relationships, and family vacations, I packed my bag quite a few times last year!

My grandparents were avid travelers, so I learned early-on that the world is as accessible as you’re willing to be. One of the reasons Mr. SP and I work so hard is for the chance to travel, alone and as a family. Even in our early years when we lived on peanuts, we still found ways to explore. (I honed my budget-travel skills then!)

These were the most popular Trip Reports of last year, and hopefully a good resource for those of you thinking of packing your bags somewhere fun in 2018. Click the link below each pic for the full recap, including where we stayed and ate, what we did, and outfits I packed!

Sharing our travel experiences and tips with you has become one of the most gratifying aspects of this blog. I love hearing how these Trip Reports helped with planning your own travels, and hope to continue making them a resource for you. I know how hard it is to save and get away, so I work very hard to make them honest, authentic, and helpful, using only my own experiences.

Is there anything you’d like to see added to the Travel posts? Do you have travel plans for this year? We’re headed somewhere warm this weekend, and I can hardly wait! See you back here tomorrow with Best of Decor!

It’s fun to check of some of your places I’ve been. I can’t wait to hit some of your suggestions!
That pic of Little Sis and Bro for your National Parks post makes me nervous! Why? B’cuz we pulled up to the Grand Canyon, got out of the car and my 5 year old ran right up to the edge of a cliff, no guardrails!! Still makes my heart race thinking about it! Thank God the chick had the common sense to sit down.
WHAT was I thinking?? Inhale. Exhale.
    Grrreat post, Cassie!

That would give me a heart attack!!! This pic was taken at Horseshoe Bend, which is kind of an optimal illusion…it looks scarier than it actual is. But I had my hand on my daughter’s hoodie the entire time!!!

I’ll be visiting Sedona in March for a girl’s getaway. Can’t wait and I will be rereading your Sedona post. I hope you have some tips for traveling to warm weather places while it is sooo cold at home. We have a cruise planned for February and I can’t wrap my head around putting on a swimsuit, shorts, and sundresses in February. Yikes!! I look forward to following along with you on your trip next week. Happy New Year!

I’m a new reader and loved seeing your trip to our local gem — Anna Maria Island. Makes me want to head out there, but it’s a little too cold for the beach right now. We just go out for the day, but after our best friends rented there over Thanksgiving and after seeing your post, thinking we need to spend a few days on AMI once Snowbird season ends. Really enjoying your lovely blog, and Happy New Year! BTW, if you have tried it yet, Fire and Stone Pizza on Cortez Rd. is amazing! Pizza and salad buffet that is pretty amazing for a small, hole in the wall type place.
