Summer of Style | Weekend in Round Top

Update for local Dallas readers: Tens of 1000s of evacuees will begin arriving in Dallas today, with makeshift shelters at the Convention Center, schools and recreation centers. Trusted World has set up donation centers with needs specific to the shelters: diapers, baby wipes, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and nonperishable food including baby formula. The only clothing items that are needed at this time are packs of underwear and socks. Go here for location and hours.

Another super-simple way to help is through redcross.org, or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. (The system is backed-up, so it may take awhile before you receive a response.) The deduction will appear on your phone bill.

And finally, furry friends are family too, and the animal shelters are in need of supplies and cash donations here.

I can’t believe this is our final Summer of Style post for the year! It’s been 12 fun weeks (for me anyway!) of easy-to-create outfits for all your Summer occasions. It’s almost Labor Day, which technically signals the beginnings of Fall…but those of us down south actually have several more weeks of steamy temps…and Summer styles!

Today’s post is sort of a 3-in-1! I’m not only featuring a few breezy Summer styles, but also a peek of my recent girl’s weekend in Round Top, Texas. Which in case you haven’t heard of, it’s the home of one of the world’s largest antique fairs, and also the most darling tiny Texas town you’ll ever visit! And by tiny, I mean population: 90!

But for such a little-bitty place, it certainly packs a ton of design, culture and good food! The weekend was hosted by the city of Round Top and my darling friends at Sugar & Cloth. And since I always jump at the chance to see Ashley, and lay witness to her awesome talents, I didn’t think twice about road-tripping down there!

Around 20 bloggers attended, and were spread out in multiple accommodations around the town, each with their own unique design aesthetic.

I stayed in the soon-to-open Wander Inn, the newest brainchild of The Junk Gypsies, and loved every bright, cozy, boho thing about it!

We were spoiled by Ashley’s every attention to detail, and the generous businesses of Round Top. I’m already planning a Fall trip back, hopefully bringing my family along for the country fun! Have you ever visited Round Top…especially for the epic antique fair?!

It’s so nice to see you blogging about the regular, fun and beautiful things, while also taking time to share how people can help the victims of Harvey. It’s so devastating to see the images on the news!
I need to go to Round Top ASAP!

It’s so hard to go about life and business as usual right now…there’s no guidebook on how to navigate these devastating, emotional events. I’m just trying to follow my heart. xoxo

Cassie, if you wouldn’t mind sharing, this is another great way to give to the disaster relief efforts. 100% of contributions will go to the victims of the storm. This is the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for Texas site. Thank you!

I adore Round Top! I used to go twice a year (April and October) for the antiques fair/flea market. My hubby and I stayed in the Heart of My Heart B&B for our 1st wedding anniversary 21 years ago, but I don’t know if it is still there anymore. I would love to go back for the antiques fair but it is no fun going by yourself and I no longer have friends who are interested in doing that sort of thing (#cryinginmysoup). Love your dress, you always look so cute in everything you have on! ~Kim in Round Rock/Austin
