Hey hey hey…how was everyone’s Halloween? We lucked out and had cool, dry weather, so the kids were able to do their thing, and collect obnoxious amounts of candy. But can you believe, not a single Butterfinger in the batch?! Little Miss has specific instructions to flush one out for me, but no such luck. Actually, I made myself chew gum the entire night so I couldn’t eat #allthechocolate
Which was great…for last night. But now the candy is in my house, and I can’t exactly chew gum 24-hours a day. #victim
Today let’s look back at October. It was a busy one with travel, style and a room reveal…and just in case you took an internet hiatus, here are the top posts from last month.
The teenager & I worked hard to create a stylish room that fit both his design aesthetic & my budget. And we’re thrilled with how it turned out. Maybe a little too thrilled, as I can’t get him to leave it much these days!
My blogger-wife and I hit NYC for a whirlwind few days…I recapped the BH&G Stylemaker Event & our perfect New York day.
Holiday parties, weddings, shindigs…it’s all around the corner, and I found the only dress you’ll need for the season (under $100!). And just in case this one doesn’t get your heart racing, I shared tons more great options.
This classic plaid skirt has an updated fit & shape, and transitions easily for Now & Later. You must see the coat I found, too!
Mr. SP & I celebrated his birthday milestone in stunning Sedona, Arizona, and both agreed it was one of our favorite spots for a weekend getaway. Gorgeous hiking, top-notch resorts & amazing food…Sedona has it all!
I brought back my very first style post series, Outfit Inspiration, where I create outfits around gorgeous rooms…starting with this fun Blush & Oxblood combination. (P.S. This dress is restocked & in tons of new colors! Not to mention, under $50!)
After almost three years of (not so) patiently waiting, we’re finally completing the Kitchen renovation. Phase 1 was a doozy, but this final is going to take it next level…thanks to the big guns I brought in to help!
I shared how versatile (and feminine!) camo can be in this Camo | Two Ways post. The outfits are two of my favorites this season!
Looking for some Fall style inspiration?! You’re in luck, because I rounded up 31 days of outfit ideas, plus links to create them all for yourself. So basically, you’ve got November covered!
Last month also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries, featuring tons of new finds, and recent outfits (and Mama Sugarplum!). I also threw in a few Faves Under $50, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.
Boyfriend Cardigan | Essential Long Sleeve Tee | Jeans | Tassel Necklace | Booties| Watch
And finally, I shared my packing process from my latest trip to New York on my Instagram Story, and Mr. SP was kind enough to convert it for y’all here on the blog! Most of you know I’m a huge fan of the eBags (they’ve changed the way I pack and travel!!), and this video gives a peek into how I use them.
Let me know if you want more posts like these in the future…and if you’re a fan of video, too. (I’m wearing this favorite v-neck in the video & here’s the link to the garment rack I mention.)
November is going to be another fun one, with holiday decor, style inspiration and updates on our Kitchen renovation! Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me!
here are some good places to start:
Your October looks so fulfilling, how do you do so much! Thank you for the video as well! 🙂

Great packing tips-i’m a chronic over packer and can’t wait try the packing cubes over Thanksgiving! What brand and size is your suitcase? ? I like how both sides seem to be equal depth–hard to find. Thanks so much!
I found this one at HomeGoods (on clearance!)…it took a little getting used to to have the two equal sides, but it makes packing so easy!
What a great month! I loved all your fall style posts! Also, I feel you on the Halloween candy front. I was working from home earlier this week, and sneaking to the candy bowl. I’m in the office today, which is a nice break from candyland. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for November and the upcoming holidays!
The candy struggle is real! :0 Love the video and love the e-bags, I just started using them and they are amazing!
I love your packing tips – you’ve totally changed my travel life. Yes – I used to be the girl in line at the ticket counter redistributing the weight between my bags to fit under the limit! You’ve really shown me how to streamline my clothes and I almost never even check bags now.
Yay!! I’m so happy they’ve been helpful!! xoxo. C.
Love your blog! You have so many good posts ,and I just have to say again that I love the camo outfits!

Thank you for the video. It was fun to hear your voice after reading your voice for so long :). I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into creating content for your readers. Blessings to you and yours!
Thank you so so much, Catherine!!! I love creating and am thrilled you find the ideas inspiring! xo
I’m a packable cubes convert. I started out years ago recycling the bags linens came in. They were a lifesaver on a driving trip up the east coast from Florida to New York. I did not want to be unpacking every time we changed hotels (nearly every night!). I’ve now upgraded to actual mesh packing cubes. I like your idea of a rack to hold all your choices so you can mix and match your looks.
I’m thrilled to hear you like the bags, too! It’s hard to explain how amazing they are…but they have changed everything about packing and traveling for me!
Where did you get the toiletries bag? What do you take and how do you pack those? That always seems to be my biggest dilemma!
The toiletry bag is from Barrington…I basically keep travel sizes of all my daily essentials packed in it at all times! It’s a little pricey to invest in them up-front, but every time I’m able to just grab it and toss in my bag, I’m glad I did it!!
I just got some Ebags for Christmas! Is your suitcase carry on size?
It depends on the trip, but sometimes I take a carry-on size, and other times I just check it to avoid hassle. The bag in this video is no carry-on sized. I hope you love the ebags!!
I saw your ebags that you use for travel and those are very cool. My daughter is getting married and needs luggage for her honeymoon what kind of luggage do you use or recommend?
Oh, she should def get a cute matching set!! Surprisingly, JCP has great sets at great prices! http://shopstyle.it/l/T9SF
