Party Dresses

Thanks so much for the love on last week’s posts! I’m thrilled you loved the teenager’s room, and it sounds like you found Friday’s Dressing Room Diaries as dangerous as I did! If only Texas Fall would cooperate so I could wear this sweater. I also noticed this perfect (not too oversized!) plaid infinity scarf is back in stock, and so cute with one of these long cardigans.

But today we’re talking holiday parties. And Fall weddings. Basically, all the festive events on your calendar for the remainder of this year. And I’ve got the only dress you’ll need to look smashing for every last one! Bonus: it’s under $100!

We’re headed to Colorado for a wedding this weekend, and I’ve been on the hunt for months for a dress…when it dawned on me I already had the perfect dress hanging in my closet! And since it’s finally back in stock (it sold out in a hot-second last year!), and in a slew of new colors, I’m excited to share!

This lace midi dress has a definite ‘WOW Factor’ and is quite the compliment-magnet. I’ve had it for awhile, and love any opportunity to wear it.

The sturdy lace moves well, but doesn’t snag, and the lining is soft and stretchy. The length is modest, but the see-thru lace keeps it sassy. You can also adjust the straps to fit your bust size. (Thanks to the thick material and snug fit, I’m able to skip a bra.)

Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS, but it’s a snug zip, so if you’re in-between, or busty, I’d size up one.

You could style it with statement earrings or necklace, and even add a moto jacket or a fitted blazer. It’s great with closed-toed pumps, as well.

This will definitely be my go-to dress this holiday season, but if you’re looking for different styles, I’ve found a slew of great dresses recently. You can find their reviews and fit tips in my recent Dressing Room Diaries.

Clearly lace is a trend this season, as are deep jewel tones. I love to accent them with statement earrings and a fun clutch, and if it’s chilly, I’ll add a luxurious wrap like this one or a pop of color like this one. Even this oversized scarf doubles as a wrap! What festive events do you have coming up this season?

Love that lace midi dress! So sophisticated. Now it’s a terrible choice for holiday parties in my frigid Canadian fall/winter (I’ve already sworn off dresses for work until April) but it’s a great idea for the wedding season next summer 🙂 Enjoy your great Texas weather.

Congrats on the wedding, Robyn!! While I adore that midi dress and find it appropriate for TONS of occasion, I’m not sure it’s dressy enough for MOTB. It’s mostly cotton, so it might lend itself to too casual.
