August was certainly a roller-coaster month none of us are likely to ever forget, and I’m sure many of you are thrilled to see the arrival of a fresh, new month. September is a glorious time in Texas…not necessarily the start of Fall, but definitely cooler days, and of course, football season! It’s also kind of the calm before the holiday storm begins, so I’m savoring it!
Today let’s look back at August. It was a busy one with lots of travel, a room makeover, and Summer style..and just in case you took an internet hiatus, here are the top posts from last month.
Round Top is quite possibly the most charming small Texas town on the map. And by small, I mean population: 90! But don’t expect a rundown Dairy Queen, this place is swarming with great design & knockout food.
Probably the best ‘bring your daughter to work’ day I’ll ever experience! Little Miss and I spent the day filming a Mother & Daughter Style video with JCPenney…not only fun clothes, but a treasured memory! I love knowing someday her kids will watch it and see our relationship in such a precious stage.
While I’m getting emotional, this dude got his drivers license this Summer! It’s an exciting, and slightly scary, new season of life for us. We wanted him to understand the levity and responsibility of driving, so we had him sign this New Driver Contract.
We wrapped our Summer of Style series last month, with a blue floral (now on sale!) perfect for work and even weddings, a graphic skirt that transitions to all seasons, the sweetest white eyelet (50% off!), and a sassy shorts combo for weekend fun.
The white sand and clear waters of Anna Maria Island have become our family’s annual escape. The sleepy island is the perfect spot to unplug…and eat! I’m sharing it all…where we stayed & ate, and our favorite experiences, in this Trip Report.
I knew I wanted a blue porch ceiling from the day we moved in, and more than two years later I finally got it! Which of course, led to a full porch refresh, thanks to a quick trip to HomeGoods. This spot is a family-favorite, especially for Little Miss and me. It’s where we usually kick-start our weekend, and catch-up on the week’s girl talk.
Y’all, I know everyone thinks they’re kids are cute….but I can’t even with these two!!! They make my heart so happy, and seeing their relationship literally brings tears to my eyes. This Back-to-School Style post has quickly become one of my favorites every year. Plus, everything they’re wearing is 50% off this weekend!!
Last month also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries, featuring tons of new finds, and recent outfits (and Mama Sugarplum!). I also threw in a few Faves Under $50, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.
Twist-Front Fleecy Top |Â Distressed Mid-Rise Jeans (50% off!) | Peep-Toe Booties
Half-Tuck Tee | Jeans | Sandals | Bag | Earrings
September brings us a fun trip to NYC and a really big birthday for Mr. SP…plus more Trip Reports, a room reveal, and tons of style inspiration for transitioning to Fall.
Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me! Happy Labor Day, lovebugs!

The JCPenny shoot looked like so much fun! What a great souvenir, especially as your daughter gets older.

Do your kids play sports? I’d love ideas on mom wear for game day. Do you ever sport a school spirit shirt or outfit for their or other team events? I need some Cassie ideas!! Xoxo
They do! I keep my tees fitted, and pair them with jeans and Converse sneakers…and always gold hoop earrings!
Looking good
Cassie,
The black V-neck in your faves for under $50 is liking to the “twist front” top-but looks like a straight hem rather than the twisted hem. I was hoping you could tell me what brand it really is?
It is so cute.
Thanks,
Sue
Ooops, that should read “Linking” to the wrong top.
