Happy Monday, friends, and cheers to the New Year! I hope you had a wonderful weekend with friends and family. I love this quiet, lazy time while the kids are home, and the chance to look back over the past year. I like to geek out a bit and dig into the analytics of what y’all loved most, too.
This week I’m looking back at 2017 and sharing my top posts in each of my main categories…Decor, Style and Travel. Today it’s all about the products you loved most, which funny enough, are all closet staples for me!
ONE // Hooded Cardigan Even though I wear this cardigan almost every day, I’m surprised to see it on your top list, simply because I rarely wear it out of the house or share it as part of a style post. But it’s honestly my Top 5 favorite thing in my closet, and I reach for it the second I get home everyday!
Tee | Hooded Cardigan | Jeans | Booties | Earrings (only $15) | Monogrammed Tote | Lipstick
TWO // Scoopneck Perfect Tee This scoop neck tee has been a top-seller for years, and I own it in a slew of colors. But it’s the white I reach for most often…in fact, I styled an entire Five Ways around it! The bootcut jeans are magically leg-lengthening, and definitely a reader-favorite, too!
Favorite Tee | Basic Blazer | Mid-Rise Bootcut Jeans | Leopard Heels | Color-Block Clutch | Sunglasses | Necklace
THREE // Crepe Shirtdress This dress was definitely one of my top finds this year, so I’m not surprised to see y’all loved it so much, too! It’s one of those dresses that’s effortlessly easy to wear, and works for so many occasions. It doesn’t hurt that it’s under $50 and available in tons of colors! (I have three!)
Black Dress (under $50!) | Similar Booties (love these, too) | Leopard Clutch | Sunglasses | Heart Beat Necklace | Earrings | Lipstick in ‘Punch’
FOUR // Cognac Leather Booties I scored these cognac beauties at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year, and they quickly became my most-worn bootie. They are so comfortable, and the leather looks more rich with every wear. These mid-rise black jeans just barely missed the Top Ten, and the plaid infinity scarf has been a winner for a few years.
Plaid Infinity Scarf | Striped Shirt | Jean Jacket | Best Black Jeans | Cognac Boots | Similar Hat| Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings | Deer Print Bag | Lipstick in ‘Punch’ | Watch | Bracelet
FIVE // Eye-Opening Mascara As it turns out, y’all love beauty posts, and talking about all things makeup! I’ll be sure to include more this year as I find new products. This mascara was my hands-down favorite makeup find of the year. I’m borderline obsessed with how it transforms my eyelashes, making them so thick and long. Plus, the formula layers really well for a dark, smoky evening look.
5 Makeup Tips to Make You Look Younger post
SIX // Dark Wash Skinny Jeans I live in jeans, but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to spend a lot for them. These jeans are a great price, but also soft and stretchy, with a comfortable mid-rise. I love the dark rinse with no distressing, and they look great with ankle booties or tucked into knee boots.
Cowlneck Sweater (40% off!) | Jeans | Ankle Booties | Tassel Earrings | Belt | Sunglasses
SEVEN // Blackout Leggings I lived in leggings the entire holiday…well, this pair of leggings to be exact. Seeing as how they are my only pair! I’ve had them for years, and they are still as opaque, thick and stretchy as the day I got them. I love the wide waistband that doesn’t slip or roll, either.
V-Neck Sweater | Plaid Shirt | Favorite Leggings | Necklace | Hoop Earrings | Packable Rainboots | Travel Umbrella
EIGHT // White Jeans Looks like we’re all pretty serious about our jeans, and these white ones have been top-sellers for two years in a row. They are a great mid-rise fit, with hidden front pockets and enough thickness and stretch to cover all the lumps and bumps. The price point is great, too! (But size down, they do run big.)
Favorite Scoopneck Tee | Similar Utility Jacket | White Jeans | Booties | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings | Heart Beat Necklace | Monogrammed Bag | Interlocking Loop Ring
NINE // Cross-back One Piece Swimsuit This was my first venture with a one-piece swimsuit, and I loved how chic it was while keeping me covered up. It’s incredibly comfortable and flattering, too.
Swimsuit | Skirt | Sandals | Hat | Earrings | Bag (love this one, too!) | Sunglasses
TEN // Peplum Tee Another great wardrobe basic…this top fits like your favorite tee, but with a fun, flirty peplum hem. The hem is lower, too, so it doesn’t look maternity like a lot of peplum does. And bonus, because it’s on super sale right now! These sandals were my most-worn this Summer, and another top favorite with y’all, too!
Peplum Tee (short-sleeve version) | Necklace (similar) | Distressed Jeans | Sandals | Leather Tote | Sunglasses | Earrings
It’s fun to see what items you gravitate to most, and I love that pretty much every one of these is on my own Top Ten list, too! Clearly we all love good basics. These bedsheets and these eBag packing cubes were certainly at the top of your shopping lists, as were my favorite undies and bra.
Do you own and love any of these items? What makes your Top Ten favorite buy this year? Happy New Year, lovebugs!
Happy new year to you! I hope you had a great New Year’s Eve! ❤️ So happy cute outfits, I can see why they’re reader’s favourites! 🙂

I too purchased the favorite white scoop necked tee in white. I loved the versatility and price, but the top quickly developed those annoying pin dot holes right at the belt line. I find this a very common occurrence in inexpensive and higher end tees. Any suggestions on how to extend the life of these garments?
Yes, I had this issue as well. I believe it is due to catching in the zipper. The fabric feels great but since it is so thin, they catch more easily than other tees with heavier fabric.
Same issue here too!
I know exactly what you’re talking about, I’ve had it happen with other tees in the past (usually J.Crew). But I haven’t had that problem with these Caslon tees yet?! Probably bc I almost-always do a little half tuck, so the fabric isn’t rubbing on the pokey part of my jeans. I don’t know if it’s 100% unavoidable with soft tees like these, so hopefully you get a lot of wears out of them before it starts happening. xo
I know just what you mean…I usually do a little half tuck on my tees now, and that prevents the rubbing that causes the hole!!
Invisi-belt!!! I used to have that problem too, but I found that wearing this invisi-belt helps my shirts not get the small holes from the button or zipper! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Invisibelt-Skinny-Lay-Flat-Women-s-Belt/149503491?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=2034&adid=22222222227061318068&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=165269922927&wl4=aud-310687321802:pla-272577752589&wl5=9026243&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113937448&wl11=online&wl12=149503491&wl13=&veh=sem
I enjoy all your posts. Photos are beautiful. If you ever did a blog workshop then I would definitely attend!
You are too sweet!! I think we’d just be laughing and eating tacos at my workshop!! 🙂
The white jeans are my favorite. For years I had trouble finding good white jeans. Through your blog I have found 2 pair that fit well, as well as the blue jeans. Would you consider styling high rise jeans? I have found these difficult to find. With a long waist and short leges (5 foot 4 inches) I need these. Even mid rise jeans are at times too short waisted for me. I realize that these are not popular for many folks, but with my long waist and smaller rear end, they are essential.
I actually styled some high-waisted jeans in a recent Date Night Style post!! Did you see those?!
I bought the Steve Madden black “quilted” sneakers and wear them all the time!! With the low Smart Wool black socks. Cannot recommend enough!
Oh yes!! Those are great! I wore them on several of my trips and they were so comfy! They made my Travel VIP list, which I’m sharing tomorrow! xo
I bought the bed sheets that you recommended on Amazon and I must say, they are wonderful!
I’m so happy to hear that!! you can’t beat the price, either! xo
