Hello friends, and happy Wednesday. First of all, I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement about our big move (see info about that HERE)! Moving is never easy, or fun, but I can’t tell you how motivating it feels knowing I have the excitement and support of this community behind me!
I know you’re excited to see peeks of the new house, and we’ll certainly get to that, but before moving forward I wanted to take a moment to reflect back on our last house. We poured so much of ourselves into it, literally renovating every single square inch! She came with really good bones, but hadn’t been updated since being built in 1995, so it was definitely a passion project over the last almost-eight years!
If you’ve been here awhile, you may remember that move in 2014 came on quickly and suddenly, too (I’m sensing a pattern here, ha!). Not only did that house fall in our laps during the Christmas holiday (read more about that HERE), but also in the middle of two major publication photoshoots (see more about that HERE and HERE). Needless to say, it was as exciting as it was chaotic!
This time around didn’t have near the craziness, but it did come on suddenly and happen really quickly. Fortunately, thanks to the flood last year we’d completed the last of the updates and renovations we’d been wanting to do for the house, (see that HERE and HERE), so it only took a few days to prepare our house to go on the market.
The only remaining project we’d considered was painting the brick exterior, but in the end, I’m glad we left her. This post is a doozy, so grab your coffee and settle in… here is our beloved home on Rosemont Drive…

I am so happy that you were able to make this move for your Daughter. You will be blessed for it.
Hubby and I did the same thing for our Son back in 1986. He was in treatment for almost a year during that time so we decided that we did not want to live in the community and send him to the same school so we moved for him and for our youngest Son. We felt that this is what God wanted us to do. We lived in that house and community for 17 years and were so happy there.
We invested in our Son’s recovery. It was not easy, but it was the best thing. He is doing well, has been married to a lovely lady for over twenty five years. Our youngest benefited from that move as well. We do whatever it takes for our children!
