Thanks for the sweet comments and birthday wishes in yesterday’s Date Style post! There’s no question I adore Mr. SP, and he makes me laugh like no one else (and madder than anyone else!). I’m having a ball on the HGTV cruise (are you following along on Instagram or Facebook?)…but excited to see him again! He’s meeting me in Miami when the ship docks, and I can’t wait for a long weekend to unplug and reconnect.
Last week was such a whirlwind with the {One Room Challenge} Reveal…and truthfully, I barely got the pics done and loaded in a post on time…so the Source List and details had to wait. I hated to leave you hanging like that, but I ran out of time, and brainpower!
But not to worry…I’ve rounded up links to most every item, along with a whole new set of pictures! Mary nailed it with the photography, and I have 100s of amazing shots (don’t worry, they aren’t all in this post)!
If I missed anything, or you have additional quesitons, let me know in the comments and I’ll update the post.

Several key pieces, like the blue sofa, coffee table, and secretary, we already owned. But many of the showstoppers were courtesy of the very generous sponsors. Most provided us with a shop credit and allowed us to choose our pieces. It’s beyond flattering that they entrusted us with promoting their brand, and also the only way I’d be able to makeover a room in six weeks!

I told you about meeting with the phenomenal artist, Dara Burriss, during Week 5…I was beyond excited after touring her studio, but was absolutely blown away by the custom piece she created for the room. I think it’s safe to say it’s a highlight!
I nailed a picture-hanger directly into the frame of the bookcase, and it hangs just as it would against a wall. I’ve always been a fan of art layered in and on bookcases, and in this instance, it helps to connect the shelves and sofa.

Kristin and I played with every conceivable furniture layout for this room, and this was always the best option because of the room’s dimensions. We considered creating a cut-out for the sofa in the built-ins, but I didn’t want to be forever-tied to this sofa size. We also thought about leaving the middle shelves out and hanging the art on the back walls…but I love the layered look of having them both.

You may have wondered about blocking the lower drawers with the sofa, but I wanted the shelves to look as if they’d always been there, and the room just filled in around it. Thinking too much? Probably.
But off-season decor is all I store in the drawers, so it’s not a big deal to move the couch once a year to access them. Besides, the shelves created more than enough book storage and display….10-foot ceilings, remember?

I thought about backing the shelves with a textured paper, but decided the deep navy and high gloss sheen were statement enough. Do you see the photographer? That’s how reflective the paint finish is…pretty much a lacquer finish in a latex paint! #bananas

You may remember we originally chose different side tables…but days before the reveal discovered they were too tall. Thank goodness for that, because these tribal wood tables were just made for the room! I love the warmth and texture, especially against the slick paint and colorful rug.

And that rug! Need I say more?! We were initially thinking charcoal for the bookcase color, but as soon as we learned Farrow & Ball was a sponsor, we immediately knew they had to be Hague Blue. Then we tried the rug in different color ways, but nothing married with the blue quite as perfectly as the purple.
I can assure I got more than a few raised eyebrows when mentioning we were designing the room with navy, purple and mustard yellow. I want to put this rug in every room of my house though…it’s that good.

This view is actually my favorite in the room…most likely for sentimental reasons. If you’ve been reading this blog for a bit, then you know how important my grandparents were to me (read the story behind my blog name here). Well, that secretary was given to them as a wedding gift almost 70 years ago, and my grandmother actually painted the lady hanging above it!
I remember as a little girl, sitting at the desk and playing with all the little compartments, and feeling very fancy. Little Miss does the same thing now, and it makes me so happy to see history repeat itself, and my grandparents live on in our new home. I think the lady was actually meant to hang in this very room…in that exact spot, watching over us.

The drapes were stunning on their own, but adding the trim took them to another level, and further connected them to the room.

These prints are each 24×24 and fill most of the narrow wall created by the room’s large opening (and opposite the main art).

Grocery store roses bought 30 minutes before photographer arrived!
We always knew the shelves would be a deep color, but I didn’t want just a statement wall, but a statement room…so we took the color all the way around by painting the 8-inch moldings and baseboards, too. The arches were added to the shelves to mimic the shape of the windows.

And this mirror was chosen to mimic the arches, as well.

I can’t believe I have wall sconces. One might actually mistake me for a grown-up!

My aunt was a life-saver and came over at the final hour to help me style the shelves. With so much already going on in the room, we kept the decor minimal and left breathing room. With such a large area to fill, we didn’t want it to become busy. There may have been some high-fiving.

But no one said grown-up rooms can’t have quirky little monkey dishes to keep them from becoming too serious!

Our previous Living Room had two mis-matched chairs with the blue couch, but this new space needed some symmetry…so we replaced them with this matching set. (I’m now using the wing chair in my office and feeling quite fancy!)
I can’t say enough about these chairs…well made, chic without being trendy, and incredibly comfortable! Not just chairs that look good in a formal setting, but chairs you actually want to sit in.

Thank you, thank you for all the love you showed this space, and the encouragement along the way. And thank you, Linda, for including me on this wild {One Room Challenge} ride! If you haven’t yet, I’d encourage you to check out all the linking participants…it’s hours and hours of eye-candy!
A special thanks to these {One Room Challenge} Sponsors:
