Last week was such a whirlwind with the {One Room Challenge} Reveal…and truthfully, I barely got the pics done and loaded in a post on time…so the Source List and details had to wait. I hated to leave you hanging like that, but I ran out of time, and brainpower!
But not to worry…I’ve rounded up links to most every item, along with a whole new set of pictures! If I missed anything, or you have additional questions, let me know in the comments and I’ll update the post.
Some key pieces, like the piano and antique tea cart, we already owned, but many of the showstoppers were courtesy of the very generous sponsors. Most provided us with a shop credit and allowed us to choose our pieces. It’s beyond flattering that they entrusted us with promoting their brand, and also the only way I’d be able to makeover a room in six weeks!
As you know, the first goal of the room’s design was to coordinate with the Living Room, which sits directly across, with only the Foyer in between. As soon as I spotted the amazing Ann Jackson wallpaper, I knew we had our starting point.

From there, we chose yellow drapes to not only pick up the champagne tones in the wallpaper, but to create consistancy between the two rooms (now all four windows that line the front of the house have similar drapery panels).
Once those key pieces were in place, the rest of the design came easily with the addition of statement lighting, and coordinating rug and chairs. The bright white walls and crisp colors really opened up the space, too, and now it feels twice as big!

I wish I were Oprah and could keep fresh flowers like this every week! Can you believe these are from the grocery store??

You may remember I struggled with finding a rug that complemented the room, but didn’t clash or compete with the patterned wallpaper. Fortunately, Rugs USA has 1000s to choose from (I looked at every.single.one!), and we hit the jackpot with this one. It’s soft underfoot, and no rug pad was necessary. I went with the 9×12 to better fill the room.

The ghost chairs are both chic, and surprisingly comfortable! I love that they allow the rest of the room to really shine…not to mention, they stack for easy storage!

I adore our old china cabinet, but it was too small for this room…so it moved to another area of the house, and we replaced it with this contemporary buffet. It provides twice as much storage, and like the ghost chairs, really opens up the room because it doesn’t take up any extra visual space.

I’ve always loved the look of captains chairs in Dining Rooms, and was excited that this space could accommodate them. They also look great on either side of the buffet when the room’s not in use.

I glammed up our everyday white dinner plates with gold chargers, gold-rimmed side plates, and gold flatware. The gorgeous agate napkin rings and batik linens add some age and texture. And not only do I adore the sexy legs of this larger table, but also the lighter, slightly-weathered finish of the wood. The light wood-tone is a nice balance to the high-gloss and sleek finishes of some of the other pieces.

I almost went with white lamps (they come in every color imaginable!), but instead chose the deep amethyst as a nod to the Living Room across the hall. If I ever want to tone the color of this room down, I can easily swap the lamps from the other room.
And we can’t talk lighting without mentioning the jaw-dropping chandelier! I love that it makes a big statement, yet doesn’t block the art.

And the art…Juniper Briggs just blew me away with her commissioned piece. It was so fun working with her, and watching this pretty lady evolve. She’s the perfect complement to the space, and really ties all the elements together. (Prints of my ‘Natasha’ are available here.)

I had every finger and toe crossed that my grandfather’s beloved ship would work with the new design, and I love the sentimental touch it gives the room. Our old piano bench was on its last leg (literally), so I jumped at the chance to upgrade to this textured, glam beauty!

I modernized Mr. SP’s childhood piano by removing the music stand, and giving it a good cleaning with Restore-a-Finish. The darling elephant planter is from my friend, Jen Stagg’s new shop!

The teacart has been in my family for years, but I removed the glass tray for a more modern look…and it now serves as a bart cart for the room. It easily rolls out of the way to make more room when we use the table, too.

The bar cart accessories are from some of my favorite shops, and I love the bits of quirk and personality they bring to the room. And the cache pot from Jill Rosenwald is almost too gorgeous to use! But won’t it be a lovely ice or wine bucket?!

We couldn’t love this room more, and even though we have a casual eating area near the kitchen, we can’t help but use this space for every day dinners, too! I can’t wait to decorate it for the holidays, and host our first Thanksgiving in it next week!
Whew! I think that just about covers it…but feel free to leave any additional questions in the comments. Also, for the local DFW readers, I’m happy to share my resources for hanging the wallpaper and speedy art framing…just shoot me an email for all their contact info.
Thank you, thank you for all the love you showed this space, and the encouragement along the way. And thank you, Linda, for including me on this wild {One Room Challenge} ride! If you haven’t yet, I’d encourage you to check out all the linking participants…it’s hours and hours of eye-candy!
