The Sugar Shack | All the Updates

Happy Wednesday, friends! How’s your week going? Little Miss headed off for her first day of school this morning… and a new school at that! Lots of prayers for her as she begins her junior year, surrounded by all new faces. She was excited (well, as excited as a teen can be when it comes to school!), and looked so grown and independent as she pulled out of the driveway!

But between our trip to Maui (see the Trip Report HERE), and our weekends at The Sugar Shack, we sure squeezed every drop of fun out of Summer Break! I hope your Summer was incredible, too, and the transition back to school routines and schedules is a smooth one.

Speaking of The Sugar Shack, we’ve slowly but surely been adding our touch, and I have tons of updates to share! So far you’ve seen the Living and Dining Rooms Reveal HERE and the kids’ baths HERE… but there’s lots more!

After months of backorders, the bed and rug arrived for the Primary Bedroom, and we added a splash of tropical wallpaper to the Primary Bath.

I created a little gallery wall around the TV using art we’ve collected from travels, pieces belonging to my grandparents, and a few Minted finds.

The guest room got more color and texture, thanks to a feature wall of grasscloth paper. Wallpaper is always a bit of a splurge, but we saved by using it sparingly in small spaces… so a lot of bang for the buck!

Target has been a go-to for all their fabulous, look-for-less mirrors!

I’ve always wanted to do a palm leaf wallpaper, so we added it to the small guest bath to really punch up the space.

Every room is the opportunity to add personality… even the Laundry Room! These affordable prints add so much color and style to all the spaces! The cabinet hardware is another inexpensive place to make a room feel more custom.

The upstairs Game Room is still a work-in-progress, but we’ve got the most important piece in place… the oversized lounging sofa for movie nights! We are really impressed with the size and quality of this one, especially given the price!

Giant media cabinets and consoles are pricey, so we used two of these affordable ones side-by-side, and love the effect!

The ‘girls room’ has some fun pops of color and print… up next is adding art to the walls.

The bunk room is pretty basic, but we found some cute patterned sheets and pillows for a little more color.

Almost two years later, and I still can’t believe she’s ours! It’s become a place of peace for our friends and family, and I’m beyond grateful for that.

You can see we splurged on a few key things like wallpaper and light fixtures that give a home a custom feel, but saved on just about everything else! Thank goodness for Amazon and Target!
