There’s something about the holiday season that makes me want to cozy up in pajamas, and watch movies by the fire all day. (Elf, anyone?!) Too bad it’s not exactly socially acceptable to live in loungewear! Or maybe, thank goodness it’s not, because that’s a lot of ratty sweats walking around the office and grocery store!
I actually have a two-day limit for hibernating…after a couple of days, I start to feel cooped up, and get the urge to put on something cute. Maybe that’s why I’m a pseudo-fashion blogger?!
But just because we have to get dressed, doesn’t mean it can’t be cozy and comfortable…and still festive! This combo is just that, and perfect for Christmas day!
Buffalo Plaid Poncho Cape | Striped Tee | Black Jeans | Booties | Disc Necklace (similar for less) | Ball Drop Earrings | Bag | Sunglasses | Lipstick in ‘132’
A simple tee and jeans, but kicked up a notch with a festive plaid and fun jewels. Obviously buffalo plaid is my pattern of the season, considering I hosed down my front porch and Christmas tree with it, too.
This ruana is soft and warm, with great movement and fun fringe trim. It drapes around the neck (no armholes), and can be worn like a cape, poncho, belted, or even wrapped like a scarf. It comes in three colors, and the best part (besides the under $50 price tag!), is it doesn’t shed!
And you know I love the jeans, since I styled an entire Five Ways around them!

Speaking of Christmas day, how’s your shopping coming along? I still have a few stragglers on my list, and Nordstrom has totally saved me in the last-minute hour! Usually I select the free shipping option, but with only a few days left, their ‘buy online, pickup in store’ service is a lifesaver!
I sort items online based on what’s available at my closest store, then select the ‘Pick Up in Store’ option under ‘Add to Cart.’ Within a few short hours, a Nordstrom associate texts me that my order is complete and ready for pickup! There’s even curbside pickup, so I never have to leave my car (or fight for a parking space! Oy.)!Â
Let’s just say the friendly folks at Nordstrom Stonebriar Centre know my car well!
If you still have a few stragglers on your list, here are some last-minute gifts available for expedited shipping, or maybe even pickup at your local Nordstrom store. I included a little something for everyone, so I hope it comes in handy!
The earrings and beanie are already favorites of mine, and I just sent my darling new nephew the singing elephant. We have the indoor snowballs, too, and they are always a hit.
one. Plaid Pajama Set  //  two. Coffee Travel Mug  //  three. Faux-Fur Beanie Cap  //  four. Chocolate Candy Wheel  //  five. Ball Earrings (only $14!) //  six. Musical Elephant Toy  //  seven. Wireless Bluetooth Speaker  //  eight. Indoor Snowballs (fun for the big kids, too!) //  nine. Tassel Slippers  //  ten. Striped Cozy Throw
If I could, I’d give each of you the gift of peace and joy this Christmas. And maybe this pink sweater, too!

Tiny, skinny Cassie pulls off the Buffalo Plaid Poncho! It’s pretty in blue too. Hair perfect.
Anxiously awaiting the Nordstrom gift card from Santa.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all!
You are DARLING in that ruana. 🙂 Which by the way, is a word I have never heard before. #youlearnsomethingneweveryday
Merry Christmas, Cassie! I feel like I know you personally through your blog and IG account! Funny how social media makes us feel that way. 😉 I’m drawn to your account because you share such great style ideas that I can recreate within my own wardrobe. I force myself to stay on a budget when shopping (hello, I work in education…ha!), but I can mimic your style by buying basic pieces and watching sales at Nordstrom and other retailers. I hope you have a wonderful holiday! Keep up the great work! ~Beth
Is that present for me? 😀
You look cute in the buffalo plaid poncho. I bought one in a Burberry pattern when travelling in Italy. It was colder than I expected and my trench just wasn’t cutting it, so I purchased the poncho to put over my coat. It worked marvellously. Once I was home I never wore it though. I ended up cutting it in half and turning it into two scarfs, one of which I gifted to my friend. I thought it rather clever and thrifty. Ha!
Those snowballs look like genius!! I’ll be braving the mall & picking up tomorrow. I can’t wait to try them out on my Pennsylvania born & bred husband who misses the snowy winters!!
Love the buffalo check poncho and slouchy beanie. Totally perfect for Christmas Day!
Love how casual cute your outfit is, adorable!
