Best of 2019 | Travel

Happy New Year’s Eve, friends! Do you have big plans to hit the town or crash your couch? We had couch plans, but instead are now hosting our son’s NYE party! Well, not actually hosting as we’ll be mostly out-of-sight, but the evening will certainly look a little different. Honestly, I’m happy to have them home, safe and sound!

Today I’m resuming my look back at this year, and I loved every second of 2019 (okay, there were a few rough patches… so almost every second), and one of the biggest reasons was because of all the travel opportunities. Between our Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collections, brand relationships, and family trips, I packed my bag quite a few times last year! (See all my packing tips HERE.)

My grandparents were avid travelers, so I learned early on that the world is as accessible as you’re willing to be. One of the reasons Mr. SP and I work so hard is for the chance to travel, both as a couple and as a family. Even in our early years when we lived on peanuts, we still found ways to explore. (I honed my budget-travel skills then!)

My Travel Essentials

As for my travel uniform, it’s safe to say my go-to is some combination of these fleece joggers, my trusty jean jacket and comfy sneakers. And of course my sturdy carry-on suitcase.

We also had a quick trip to Santa Barbara to shoot our latest Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection, but more about that soon!
