Best of 2019 | Decor Projects

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome back to a new week! We’ve had several days of pajamas and movie marathons, but today might have to be the day I get dressed again!

It hasn’t been all lazing around though, I’ve been purging and organizing one area of our house each day, and hope to have all the pesky spots cleaned up by the end of the week. So far I’ve tackled the kitchen, nightstands, junk drawers, and my inbox! Have you heard of unroll.me…it allows you to unsubscribe to all your emails in a single click! It’s liberating! (However, if you want to make sure you don’t miss Hi Sugarplum posts, you can subscribe HERE!)

It’s hard to believe 2019 is coming to a close already, but there’s nothing like the new year to get a fresh perspective on life, and take charge of the chaos! Not to mention, get cracking on all our unfinished spaces!

Granted, we’ve made a big dent in many of them since moving to this house five years ago, but there are still a few remaining. I didn’t accomplish all the spaces I intended last year, but when I sat down to write this post, I was surprised by just how much we did achieve!

Here’s our decor projects from 2019…

Guest Room //

The slowest moving project in our house…the guest room is creeping right along! We added fun new wallpaper and twin beds, but still need light fixture, art, and window treatments to finish it out.

We also updated the adjoining bathroom, so I’ll share that soon!

Backyard Patio //

Definitely the biggest project, the backyard remodel actually spanned almost six months from start to finish! But worth every dust-filled second since we use this space every day! Thanks to the Texas climate, this area is literally an extension of our house and we use it year-round.

Master Bathroom //

This project was actually planned for 2020 or beyond…until our beloved contractor of 15 years called to say he was retiring! The timing wasn’t great either with our family’s travel plans, so fortunately A Well Dressed Home stepped in and designed the bathroom of our dreams! See the full transformation HERE and my favorite details HERE.

Family Room //

Our main family room got a facelift, and I could not be happier with it! I’ll share a full before and after soon, but you can see glimpses of it in this post.

Office //

You’ve probably noticed from my mirror selfie posts, but our office is in the middle of a much-needed makeover!! It’s literally the space I spend most of my time, and the very last to receive some decorating love! I can’t wait to finish it this year and share it all with you!

Breakfast Room //

And finally, one area you’ve seen very little of, but has come a long way…our breakfast room! We’re adding the finishing touches now and will have the reveal for you soon!

And these weren’t remodeling projects, but we did some sprucing for holidays here and there…

    Spectacular make-overs. Lovely home.
Your tall front door is amazing, but furniture deliveries must come thru another door in your house, it seems really narrow. Why I bring this up, I do not know! Thanks for sharing!

LOL!! It does look really skinny, right? I think that’s because it’s so tall…over 9-feet! It’s actually a normal width, and we’re able to move things through it no problem! Happy 2020!

For me, it’s the giant took-forever back yard project. It has huge impact and someplace you’ll love being in for years.
Inside, it would be the master bathroom. It’s a lot bolder than anything I’d do, but suits your love of color and pattern to a T. Love how it turned out.
Good luck with the decluttering. It’s like painting the Golden Gate bridge; a never ending project.

I think you should become an interior designer and offer your services to us less “creative” people and charge a reasonable price and I can assure you you’ll will have so much clientele in Texas alone you’d be rich 🙂
