Great Stays | Los Poblanos Historic Inn

Happy Hump Day, friends! Thanks for the love on Mama Sugarplum’s Favorite Things post yesterday!! I’m thrilled you liked it and hopefully gave you some fresh ideas for gifts (even if for yourself!). Did you notice how many of her faves were actually discovered here? Mama Sugarplum reads my post every morning, and takes my recommendations to heart…which is just another reason I’d never share something with you, that I wouldn’t directly with her!

Your trust means everything to me, and I’d never intentionally do anything to lose that…regardless if it’s fashion or travel, I’ll always tell you straight! And speaking of travel, today I’m excited to share another stop on our New Mexico trip from last month…our stay at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm.

If you’ve been reading the blog for a bit, you may remember we stayed there several years ago, and just adored it. They recently completed a huge renovation and addition, and we couldn’t wait to see it for ourselves. In fact, the only reason we flew into Albuquerque instead of Santa Fe for this trip was to stay at Los Poblanos!

It was the perfect fall weekend, with bright leaves and crisp air. We only stayed one night but it was worth the pitstop.

The weather was cooler than we’d expected (remember the snow in Santa Fe?!), so I was grateful for the extra layers and this warm blanket scarf (on sale!)! The colors are so fun, and it added a fun pop to my otherwise neutral outfits.

The long cardigan is J.Crew’s infamous supersoft yarn, and I love the longer length. My chelsea boots have been faves for a few season, and just get better with age. The low heel makes them so comfortable for walking all day.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS sweater, and jeans and boots are true to size.

As soon as we checked in, we started exploring the property to see all that had changed. I tend to like things to stay how I remembered them, but I think Los Poblanos did a nice job of adding beautiful new rooms, while preserving the historic sections.

And of course the lavender fields are still the highlight!

Fair Isle Sweater (on sale!) | Straight Leg Jeans | Wool Hat | Chelsea Boot | Similar Hoop Earrings

This fair isle sweater has the cutest mix of plum and blush pink, and the material is so warm and soft. I wore this hat pretty much non-stop, too…a great size and fit, and perfect neutral taupe.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS sweater, and boots and jeans are true to size.

The biggest change is the addition of Campo, their on-site farm-to-table restaurant. It’s much larger than the original, quant spot…and breakfast is no longer included in the rate. The food is still incredible, and the bar is a fun spot, but you’ll likely be sharing the space with locals now, and not just hotel guests.

The peacocks are still there, and as territorial as ever!

Sherpa Jacket (40% off!) | Plaid Flannel Shirt | Wide Leg Jean

We stayed in one of the field suites and absolutely loved the bright, airy room and wood-burning fireplace!

Chelsea Boots

As for what I packed…Los Poblanos is fairly casual, and jeans are acceptable for breakfast and dinner. Our visit was so short, we never actually left the property, so I rotated between and jeans and sweaters and pajama pants!

Then we packed up and headed home…I opted for cozy, and the world’s best ponte knit leggings! They’re so cute with sneakers, flats or boots…I love the high-waist, opaque material, and thick stretchy knit.

Los Poblanos was the perfect end to our long weekend, and well worth the trip. We visit very few places more than once, so it says a lot when we do!

Did you notice most everything I packed is on sale!? Nordstrom is having a huge seasonal sale on so many great pieces, and many make incredible gifts! Order now for shipping by Christmas, or if you have a local store, order online and do curb-side pickup! It’s the greatest invention since popcorn and Milk Duds!

I’m thinking the rolling method of packing the sweaters may have worked better. Just a thought – I love the blog.

LOL…you mean because of my rumpled sweater in the flatlay pic? 😉 I took those quickly when we got home, and I had packed quickly knowing I’d be washing everything! Normally I fold neatly and everything stays mostly wrinkle-free (as evidenced by the sweater in pics where I’m wearing it!). xo. C
