Your comments were so motivating, and I loved hearing your goals and words, as well. It’s a little intimidating sharing my heart that way, but like dear friends, you’re always so kind!
I’m super excited about today’s post…not only do I have a few more sneak peeks of the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort Collection (#eeeek!), but also an exclusive discount just for y’all to one of the most charming and chic hotels I’ve ever stayed.
Some hotels are just a place to lay your head, but others are part of the travel experience. This is true for La Serena Villas in Palm Springs…this hotel is worthy of a trip all it’s own! And in our case, the perfect backdrop for the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort Collection!
Originally built in 1933, this historic hotel sits on over an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds, with the stunning San Jacinto mountains as its backdrop. The entire property was revamped two years ago, and no detail was overlooked…flawless design, jaw-dropping tiles and textiles, and top-notch service.
The kid-free (but pet-friendly!) hotel is made up of 18 villas (think adorable Mediterranean-style cottages), each with their own private patio, romantic claw foot tub, and fire-pit. Bottles of tequila await you in the room, and the cutest breakfast basket is hand-delivered to you each morning.
Seriously, I’m still dreaming of that breakfast basket!!
Our original plan was to shoot a handful of the Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Resort Collection pieces here (see behind-the-scenes of the photoshoot here), then capture the rest in different Palm Springs locations.
But when we arrived and saw that literally every nook and cranny was Resort-perfection, we ended up shooting the entire Collection at La Serena Villas! It’s everything the Resort Collection embodies…and then some!

Granted we were working 14-hour days shooting the Collection, but I never wanted to leave the property! We had breakfast in our room (those darling baskets!!!) and lunch (and most dinners!) at their amazing pool-side restaurant, Azucar.
Evenings were spent first enjoying happy hour on their rooftop bar (with views of the mountains and stars!), then quietly on our own private patios or the Whispers Spa.
The staff is friendly and welcoming, and there’s not an ounce of pretension in the place. But style and inspiration overflows!

Palm Springs is the perfect weekend getaway…over 150 golf courses, tons of top restaurants, shopping, spas, and unbelievable weather (it was 75-degrees everyday we were there!). No wonder you loved this place; it’s like the Mother Ship of pattern and color! It even has your kitchen tile. If you designed a boutique hotel, this is what it would look like (plus a taco truck somewhere on the property … or at least a taco bar).
But I NEED to know what goes into those chic breakfast baskets…
That is the biggest compliment ever!! I was literally gushing the entire time we were here, I was so smitten with every detail! The basket (that cute colorful woven basket that’s sitting next to me on the bed) is full of baked goods, yogurt, homemade granola, boiled eggs, juice, and all the fixings…and of course, all in the cutest little jars and bottles. It’s ridiculous how happy it made me every morning!!

My husband and I just booked a stay there in late February for his birthday! I am SOOO excited!!! It was because of your post, that made me tell him about this place! Shoot, I wish I had seen the 20% discount yesterday! We might look into it and see if it is not too late to get them to apply it!

Cassie, you are a fun inspiration and I just wanted to tell you thank you! I landed on you randomly, I am a busy mom who has zeros time for browsing blogs but now yours is like my treat at the end of the day! And far less calories than dessert 🙂 And my dear friend got hooked on you too and we keep saying you would be a girlfriend for sure! AND we happen to live here in spectacular Palm Desert (next door to Palm Springs) so look us up when you come back! It is gorgeous gorgeous here but the best time is Spring for sure! I need that resort wear ASAP and yes, I’ll have it on at my son’s baseball practice😂
Last night I was with my girlfriend at her daughter’s waterpolo game and I’m pulling out my Gibson hoodie and told her, “Oh yeah, this is Cassie’s” and we laughed 🙂
