NSale At Home + Best of Men, Kids & Gifts

Hey friends…happy hump day! It’s also Public Access Day for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…meaning everyone can now shop this epic sale event (starting at 8:30am CST)!

It’s one of only two or three sales I cover all year, and I love sorting through the 1000s of incredible deals, and sharing the very best with you! I strive to be a resource for you, and hope my coverage has been helpful. Today I’m wrapping it up with my top picks for Men, Teen…and my favorite category, Gifts!

I grabbed a few things early on, and they’ve already made it to my regular rotation. No surprise most of them are comfy pieces for working and lounging at home.

Knit Blazer | Scoopneck Tee | White Jeans | Bar Necklace

This knit blazer has been a go-to for years…nothing makes me feel more pulled together than this chic number! It doesn’t hurt that it’s a thick and stretchy knit, making it super comfy, too!

I grabbed this new gray color, and love it for the transitional season.

Fit Tip: I size down to a petite XS for a shrunken fit.

I love zipper jackets for throwing on after workouts, and I couldn’t resist the fun animal print of this hoodie. Made of a soft, thick sweatshirt material, it will be a welcome layer this Fall. The sports bra is a flattering longer length, and I love it paired with high-waist leggings.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small for a relaxed fit.

You know Mama Sugarplum and I grab a pair of these heavenly pajamas every year…they are ridiculously soft! And I love that they aren’t too warm, either. They also wash and dry beautifully.

Fit Tip: I usually size up in pajamas, but these are generous, I’m in an XS

I’ve rounded up my Top Picks for everything from Beauty to Shoes, but y’all have been asking for more…so here’s the the best of the rest! I actually recruited Mr. Sugarplum and the teens to help, so these are all straight from the source!

Mr. SP lives in his Patagonia Quilted Jacket and Patagonia Quilted Vest in the Fall and Winter, and they rarely go on sale! The no-iron shirts are great for wash and wear, too!

one. No-Iron Dress Shirt 3-pack // two. Vineyard Vines Plaid Shirt
three. Wayfarer Sunglasses // four. Patagonia Quilted Jacket
five. Patagonia Quilted Vest // six. Chukka Boot
seven. Basic Cotton Tee 4-pack // eight. Henley Tee
nine. Sports Watch // ten. Boxer Briefs

Little Miss always heads straight to the shoe department, and fortunately we now wear the same shoe size. This year it’s all about the street sneaker, and she adores these, plus her go-to hightops. Jackets and activewear are always a great buy during NSale, and she also added this fun art to her cart.

one. Tie-Back Jumpsuit // two. Twist Front Hoodie
three. North Face Reversible Jacket // four. Nike Street Sneakers
five. Comfy Undies 2-pack // six. Seamless Bralette
seven. Converse Platform Sneakers // eight. Zella Legging

Mr. College Guy shops the Men’s department, and loves the sporty styles. He loves these shirts for when he needs to be in more than a t-shirt, and is excited for Winter in this cool puffer coat.

one. Polo Boxer Briefs 4-Pack // two. Vineyard Vines Polo Shirt
three. Patagonia Puffer Jacket // four. Kiehls Body/Hair Wash
five. Hershel Duffle Bag // six. Chelsea Boot
seven. Nike Running Shoe // eight. Comfy Jogger Pant

NSale is a great time to get a jump on holiday shopping, and the gift selection is great this year! It’s hard to beat cashmere for under $60 and Kendra Scott under $30! You could give this $25 throw to literally everyone on your list and they’d be thrilled…it really is that good!

Split this candle set up for five thoughtful gifts for only $6 each. The lipsticks are a fun stocking stuffer, too.

one. Leopard Throw // two. Tassel Bliss Throw (only $25!)
three. Gorjana Bar Necklace // four. Kendra Scott Bracelet
five. Cashmere Sweater // six. Lipstick Set
seven. Barefoot Dreams Cardigan // eight. Tea Set
nine. Reed Diffuser Set // ten. Ugg Slippers
eleven. Candle Set // twelve. Framed Beach Art

And while many pieces sold out immediately last week, several of my personal favorites are still available! I added all these to my closet, and couldn’t be happier!

  1. Go-with-everything, super-comfy, ankle booties
  2. No-Wedgie comfy undies
  3. Camo utility jacket with pink hood
  4. Flattering ankle length black jeans
  5. World’s best strapless bra

    Hi Sugarplum Team,
I’m really a big fan of your style and posts, but in light of the trajectory of the general public could we see less “shopping” and more of the “old Sugarplum” who focused on remixing pieces in your closet, organizing, cooking? It seems like the majority of your posts recently are centered around buying more. I know that’s the way influencers work- but for the sake of content (and reviewing your “about me”) I really wish for a pivot toward the “working with what you’ve got” mindset that a lot of us are in right now. I love your blog & content, but tiring of the “buy more of these things” trend that has taken over the recent posts. I’m so glad you and your family are in a safe & financially secure position, but it seems very out of touch with the majority. As I said, I love your style and candidness about emotions. Thank you for all your hard work, and creating a happy place in these uncertain times.
    Best Wishes,

Hi Mary! Thanks so much for your feedback! This month has definitely been a lot more ‘shopping,’ but the NSale is one of only 2 or 3 major sales I cover each year, and most HSP readers look to me as a resource for shopping it. Being home has certainly dictated the type of content I’m able to create this year, and I hope you’ve enjoyed all the posts ranging from Tips for Working From Home and How to Dermaplane Your Face to Date Night In Ideas and Tips for Applying Self-Tanner. xo. I was locked and loaded – wish list ready to go today at 8:30 am on the nose. Sadly, only 2 of about 12 items on my list were still available. The rest is sold out. Do you know if they normally restock at any point during the sale? Thanks!

Shoot…that is such a bummer!! My guess is the only restock will be returns at this point. But lots of people order multiple sizes, so you’ll def see things come back!

Hi! Question about Barefoot Dreams cardigan=I have a few & will prob order another one ;), but how do you store yours? Hanging or folded? I’ve been nervous to hang since they are kind of heavy & don’t want the shoulders stretched out but after folding them they end up so wrinkled since they are large & slippery I think they don’t stay nicely folded for me

Hi Vicki! I have all mine hanging on hooks behind my closet door (similar to a robe). It works great for me!
