Sugarplum Style, Vol. 110 + Best of February

Happy Friday, friends. We have had the most devastating week, and I’m not even quite sure I can get the words out. Our dear daughter unexpectedly lost her very best friend Tuesday. This precious girl was part of our family, and like a second daughter to us, and we are all completely broken.

She was to be with us on our Spring Break trip next week, so we’ve cancelled that to be home and keep Little Miss close. Your prayers for us and her family would be so appreciated as we navigate this grief. Sending love back to all of you, as well.

Today I’ve got another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. I hope they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.

Oh Cassie, my heart just dropped reading about your daughter’s dear friend. I can’t even begin to understand the pain your sweet girl is feeling. She is blessed to have a family that will guide, uplift, and comfort her in what will undoubtedly be one of the most difficult times of her life. Lifting your entire tribe in prayer and wrapping you in a virtual hug as you grieve a young life cut too short. Words are just so meaningless when confronted with such a devastating loss.

Cassie, I read your post yesterday and thought about it all day, but didn’t get a chance to comment until now. What an unimaginable loss for your friend’s family, and for yours as well. Growing up, I too had that best friend who I vacationed with, and whose family were like a second set of parents to me. I can’t begin to imagine what I would have experienced had I lost her. Sending prayers for your family and for Little Miss, and of course her friend’s family. The Lord has compassion and grieves as well at the death of his godly ones (Psalm 116:15). May He comfort and heal your broken hearts in the long days ahead.

    Hi Cassie,
I can inly imagine what you are going through with your daughter’s friend. If this was in fact what I think it was, please check out Sources of Strength’s website for you and your daughter.
I am a high school teacher and have experiences more of this than I would like to admit, including a recent death of a friend’s son. So whatever the cause, this training is developed to help high schoolers (and adults!) deal with their grief by recognizing there is support within and outside of us.
You inspire me and are so positive. I would love to share more if there is ever an opportunity – OR check out SOS to see if it is in your area. To finding peace……
