Dressing Room Diaries

Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend! We were iced-in yesterday, but hoping things start to thaw out today… in time for a busy volleyball weekend! We drew the short straw and have the earrrrly start time, so you know it will be a leggings day for me!

Today I’ve got an all new Dressing Room Diaries for you, and it’s chock full of the cutest new arrivals! You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries… the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!

Before we get in to the new arrivals… my go-to, must-have, closet-staple, boss-babe blazer is 20% off this weekend only!! This classic piece never discounts this deep!! It’s truly one of the longest-wearing items in my closet, and what I reach for anytime I need to feel pulled together, professional, or just classically stylish.

It’s a thick cotton knit, with lots of stretch and a cute contrasting lining I like to show by cuffing the sleeve. Wear it with jeans, trousers, skirts and over dresses.

Fit Tip: I prefer it as a shrunken fit and size down to an XXS, but it’s true to size.

Tops //

My favorite outfits for Spring always involve jeans and a statement top, and this one could not be cuter! I love the embroidered sleeves, bright colors, and cute ruffle neckline… plus, it buttons up the back for a cute style coming and going! The material is thick and textured, with a sturdiness to it.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but would size up if you’re busty.

This gauzy tunic top comes in a few fun colors, but the pink totally caught my eye. It has a forgiving bell shape with puff sleeves, and elastic at the shoulders for a comfy fit.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small, but an XS would work, too.

Keeper alert! This little top is so simple, but so totally cute and easy. It’s made of a super-soft, gauzy material with operational buttons. I love the full sleeve and loose fit, and will pair it with jeans and cut-offs.

This eyelet top is a lightweight cotton with a smocked square neck and peplum hem. The ruffle-trimmed puff sleeves give it a feminine style.

Stripe-lovers rejoice! You’ll love this henley style top, made of a thick and stretchy cotton knit. It comes in several colors, the yellow is actually quite a bit brighter than my photo depicts.

Fit Tip: Im wearing an XS for a close fit, but would size up if you want it more relaxed.

Spring Sweaters & Pullovers //

Spring sweater season is fast-approaching, and these two will be in heavy rotation for me! I’m always here for the colorblock, and this cotton-blend sweater has the cutest combo of lilac and blue. I love this zippered neckline for wearing open or tall.

The cardigan you’ll wear from now until mid-Summer… this waffle weave is soft and plush, without being overly heavy. It comes in a range of colors, but the oatmeal is great for Spring and Fall.

Skirts & Pants //

Skirts are my favorite jeans-alternative for Spring and Summer, and this one is a darling find! Made of soft, gauzy cotton, it has an easy pull-on elastic waist and tiered, a-line shape. Pair it with a fitted tee or tank, or even a statement top, it’s incredibly comfy and versatile.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS. The waist is extra-stretchy and the fit generous.

Another fun skirt, this one in a flowy, rayon material and feminine floral print. It’s fully-lined, with a pull-on elastic waist and pockets. Keep it casual with a tee, or dress it up with a blouse and wedges.

Is there anything preppier (or cuter!) than kelly green and navy?! These pants are a fun Spring find, with lots of stretch and a straight leg. The tie belt is removable, and they easily dress up or down for work and weekend.

The henley top is a rayon material, and the stripes a sturdy cotton.

Your vacation called, it said this dress wants to come along! The colors, the print, the flattering silhouette… I love everything about this dress! It’s a linen-blend, with tie shoulders and a fully-lined skirt.

The requests for special occasion dresses are coming in hot, so I’m guessing many of you have full calendars this season! After all, we have two years worth of celebrations to make up for! I’m not usually one for body-con dresses, but this one makes an exception! Made of a stretchy knit, it’s thick enough to smooth lumps and bumps, and has flattering ruching along the sides to conceal the tummy. The waist is elastic, with a flattering elbow sleeve. I love it paired with both sandals or sneakers.

Let’s talk shoes… did you notice these are pretty much the only three styles I wore for the entire post? They’re perfect for just about any outfit you’re styling this spring… and all super comfy and neutral.

The sneakers are lightweight with a great low-profile shape that aren’t clunky with jeans or dresses. The sandals are ultra-flattering and comfy with a padded footbed (totally Tkees lookalikes!). And the slides are Spring perfection with a linen look that pair with white or dark denim.

Fit Tip: The sneakers are whole sizes only and run big, so go down. I sized up half in the sandals, and the slides are true-to-size.
