Beauty Files | ‘Happy Place’ Hair & Makeup

Hello friends, and welcome back to a new week! We had an uneventful weekend, which was perfect after all the excitement from last week! It was fully of much-needed sunshine, and long walks.

I think spring is finally here to stay (give or take the rogue chilly days that are sure to pop up), so I switched over my closet for the seasons… and donated five bags to our local women’s shelter in the process! Such an incredible feeling to minimize, and know the clothes are making someone happy.

Okay, last week was all about our Happy Place Collection clothes, so now let’s turn our attention to the other star of the show… the makeup! And even more specifically, the lipstick!

Once again, Suzie Moldovan, the award-winning makeup artist whom I’ve worked with for all our Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collections, worked her magic with an arsenal of products, and it’s all available at Nordstrom! I’ve found so many new faves through working with Suzie… since she has access to literally every product on the market, she truly knows what wears best.

Just to show you the power of good hair and makeup… how’s this for a Before and After! And no matter how much I moisturized, Suzie always adds a little more before getting started (she uses this one). Hydrating inside and out is what gives you the true, youthful glow!

Suzie always brings a slew of new lip colors for us to try, and most of the time, we use up to five shades per photoshoot.

But not this time!! We tested tons of colors against every piece in the ‘Happy Place’ Collection, and none were as bright, happy, and perfectly pink than Hourglass ‘I Can’t Wait.’ So we departed from our usual arsenal of lip shades, and shot the entire Collection with this one perfect pink! The formula is incredible, too, and it applies easily and beautifully, and is creamy and long-lasting.
