Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend! We have our first out-of-town volleyball tournament this weekend, and I couldn’t be more excited. Not only to watch our girl play, but for a few nights in a hotel, ha! Especially since we just found out yesterday we have yet another busted pipe… this one in the brick wall. So much for hot water. #sigh

In more fun news, we’ve been hard at work for several months on our next Gibsonlook x Hi Sugarplum Collection, and I can hardly wait to share this new Spring line with you! (Details coming soon, so make sure you’re subscribed HERE.) Today I thought it would be fun to take you behind the scenes of our photoshoot earlier this month in Palm Springs. It really is the perfect backdrop!

I joined forces with my Dream Team, photographer Valorie Darling, and hair and makeup artist, Suzie Moldovan, and we had the best time bringing our latest Gibsonlook x Hi Sugarplum Collection to life! Here’s a look at our days… plus a few sneak peeks!

The first hurdle is packing up all the shoes, bags, jewelry and hats we use to style the Collection. As always, eBags made it happen!

I double-masked and headed out to meet my girls. This double-strand necklace is definitely a favorite find recently… I’ve worn it non-stop.

We hunkered down in the most quintessential Palm Springs house, and it was the perfect little bubble for us… not to mention an adorable backdrop for this new Spring Collection!

With five bedrooms spread out between two structures, it’s a great property for large families or multiple couples. The exterior space is incredible, as is the location to town. The interior is fairly minimal, but comfortable.

First step is always to get my brows tamed!! Suzie is the owner of Flybrow, a mobile brow business that pops up in the LA and San Fran areas, and works magic on brows! She laminates, tints, and shapes them before every shoot, and it’s my favorite party favor.

We then headed out to scout locations around Palm Springs, and of course couldn’t resist the famous ‘Palm Springs Pink Door’ house.

Next step is unpacking all the styling accessories, and prepping the Collection so we’re ready to roll bright and early.

Mornings start before the sun, and I was in Suzie’s chair by 5:30am for a full makeover.

The magic of Val and Suzie is they are both so full of incredible positive energy, and are so good at their jobs, I never once check a mirror or the camera… I just know they’ve got me!
