Top Ten | August

Happy, happy September, friends! I hope you’re having a fabulous Labor Day, and soaking up the extra family and friend time. I don’t know about you, but August was a whirlwind, don’t you think?! Between traveling and the kids returning to school, there was a lot going on.

Some weeks days it seems I’m doing nothing but chasing a To Do List, or playing catch-up, so it’s nice to take a moment each month and look back at the projects and content I managed to create. Hopefully we all spent a little less time online for the final weeks of Summer, so here’s a quick catch-up of the top posts from August.

JoJo & Jordan…even if you didn’t watch The Bachelorette, you’ve probably seen
pics of these two beautiful people plastered all over. One of their first perks was a little
vacation in this stunning Malibu home. It’s only $25k a week, so what do you say we go halfsies?! šŸ˜‰
Portofino, Italy might just be one of the most picturesque stops on our
Mediterranean Cruise. Or any trip, for that matter!
I love a good Look for Less…and this baby is the best $25 I’ve spent in awhile.

I get a lot of requests for more work wear styles…so I added the Work It series
featuring office-appropriate outfits like these Black & White options. You can check the
Work to Weekend series for more ideas, too.
Even though we renovated the Kitchen over a year ago, it still feels a little
unfinished to me. So I’ve been considering some changes, like taking the backsplash
tile all the way to the ceiling. You guys proved very opinionated with your ideas…and I loved it!!

Two things: The rug is actually really muted in person, the pic above is lightened quite a bit. Also, I’m hooking up with my friend, Emily, to get some help finishing the room…so standby for that!

This month’s {5 Ways} was based around the essential little white tee, and I gave
several ways of styling it for the coming season. Well, five ways, to be exact.

I had the honor of attending & speaking at the Bloom Bash Workshop in Florida.
It was like spending two days inside an issue of Martha Stewart Living.

Cartagena, Spain was the first stop on our Mediterranean Cruise, & a tapas wonderland.

One of my favorite shoots to date, for Back-to-School with one of my favorite brands
I love these cuties so much!

Last month also had another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Dressing Room Diaries, featuring tons of new finds, and recent outfits. I also threw in a couple of quick Five Under $50 and Ramblings, featuring fun new things I’ve got my eye on.

(Sidenote: I also updated my Sugarplum Picks to reflect what I’m loving and wearing these days. You can check it out anytime using the shopping bag graphic in the sidebar.)

September is sure to be another fun one, with a trip to NYC, new home updates, and touches of Fall in the closet. Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…your support and comments mean the world to me!

In case you missed it, all the best Labor Day sales can be found in this huge new Dressing Room Diaries post. Enjoy the extra day, lovebugs!!

Happy Labor Day, (American) friends! I hope your day is void of all labor, and full of fun. We’re hosting a gaggle of teenagers for a holiday pool party today. Did I mention it’s co-ed?? I’ll be working on not hyperventilating while I oversee our son and his growing-up-so-fast friends. They are such a sweet bunch, most of them friends since Kindergarten, but it still freaks me out to see them getting so old!

There’s no question August was a surreal month, full of #pinchme moments. I’m continually shocked by the amazing opportunities this blog presents, and eternally grateful for the joy and fulfillment this little piece of the internet brings to my life. In case you backpacked through Europe with no wifi last month, here are the top posts of August.

Want the world’s easiest, crowd-pleasing dessert? Pull these Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches out of your hat freezer, and bask in the praise!
My indecisiveness finally paid off, and I stumbled on a pretty clever way to switch up your bed. In fact, it’s 1 Bed | 4 Ways.
The big ol’ spread of our former house hit the newsstands, and I spilled the secrets Behind the Scenes of our BHG Refresh shoot!

Such a fun, floral skirt…how about let’s style it {5 Ways}!
I hopped over to Atlanta for the Haven Conference for some much-needed girl time. I shared some pics, along with What I Packed.

I still can’t believe that’s me…on the Cover of Redbook Magazine! Don’t worry, I’m not likely to let you forget about it anytime soon either. #canyoublameme?
We also have another round of Sugarplum Style, and everyone’s favorite, Look for Less. Both of which now have nifty little graphics in the sidebar, so you can catch up on them anytime. Oh yeah, I’m also cruising the Carribean with HGTV and the Property Brothers…you can come, too!
September is set to be a another doozy as I head back to NYC for an exciting event, continue with room makeovers, and welcome Fall. Happy un-laboring, lovebugs!

Lovely, as always. I don't even want to think about mine getting older. My oldest will hit high school in 7 short years with her sister and brother on her heels. Luckily she promises she's living with me forever.
    Have a great day!

Happy Labor Day, my friends. I hope your day is absent from all laboring…or at least, you’re taking a break from work that’s no fun! I’m working on some projects, but having a grand time. August was a fun month, that flew by much too fast…here’s a quick look back at the Top Ten posts of the month.

Hey all, and happy September. That sounds so crazy, right? September already!!?? You know that means Christmas will be here in like a minute. We’re still in denial that Summer break is over, but fortunately we’ve got weeks and weeks of Summer temperatures left, so we’re still parked by the pool every weekend. Including this past weekend…so not a lot of projects happened. Sometimes you just have to walk away from the spraypaint.

August, however, was pretty busy around here. Here’s a recap of the top posts and projects…

My son’s room got a window upgrade with Galvanized Pipe Curtain Rods, and another layer of drop cloths as black-out liners.

Here is a full Breakdown of our Kitchen Remodel, including budget.

We threw a pool party for our son’s birthday (post on the way!), so I gathered some great Summer Party Inspiration.

Our Kitchen was featured in BH&G (I promise this is the last time I’ll mention it today).

I’m cuckoo for this Dip Dyed Ombre Tote.

Speaking of back-to-school, time to organize for smoother mornings. We started with a Lunch Box Station, and Coffee Spot.

My online-friend fantasies came true when I attended the Haven Conference.

Our family also got to spend an evening at the Ballpark,
and another stuffing our faces with wings.
It was a good month.

Thank you so much for stopping by when you do…daily, monthly, accidentally…I appreciate all your visits! How was your weekend? Are you gearing up for Fall projects, or still clinging to Summer like we are? Oh, and don’t forget to enter this sa-weet giveaway for a gaggle of Martha Stewart Home Office products!
