Spring Style | Pink Gingham

Today we’re continuing the Five Ways series of transitioning to Spring, and this outfit is made for parties and showers, or even the office! (See day 1 with blue and yellow here, and yesterday’s casual stripes and tassels here.)

The moment I spotted this dress online, I knew it had to be mine. Can you believe I found it at JCPenney? You know I hold a soft spot in my heart for them after my special Mother/Daughter collaboration last Summer!

Gingham is everywhere this season, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s the perfect happy, preppy pattern, and pairs well with stripes and florals. (Did you see the sneak peek of gingham coming in my Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Collection May 29?)

When the days get warmer, I’ll lose the jacket…and you could always swap the shoes to these cute wedges or these ruffle flat sandals for a more casual style.

I guess you could say I’m officially obsessed with these strappy sandals, considering I now have four pairs!! They come in a slew of colors, the price is unbelievable, and they’re legit comfy for standing and walking all day! Well played, Penneys!

Fit Tip: The shoes run true to size, and I was thrilled to see the dress offered in a shorter, petite size! I’m wearing 2P.

I picked this straw market tote and tassel up earlier this season, but was surprised to find so many darling options for a fraction of the cost at JCPenney! And check out these fun hats! I seriously want to book a trip to the Kentucky Derby just to wear one of them!

Yep, this gingham cutie definitely passes the dance test! I actually wore this entire combo for Easter, and know I’ll be pulling it out again for all the fun Spring events ahead! Have you shopped JCPenney lately?

I bought this dress the second I saw it in your Instagram stories and love it just as much in person. Unfortunately, it hasn’t warmed up enough here to wear it yet (it snowed on Easter). Tomorrow is supposed to be over 70 though! I just wish I could wear it with my denim jacket to work, but we have a strict “no denim” policy:(

Oh bummer! But a cardigan would be really cute, too!

Say, NOT related to this very cute dress.. BUT.. I sure appreciated hearing what happens to your clothes that cycle out of your closet for business/blogger purposes. Thank you for sharing the extras that come with your line of work with those who do not have as much. This is wonderful to hear. I work in philanthropy as my day job, and I think it is positive when individuals of influence not only give back, BUT this message with their circle of influence. Thank you!

So nice to see you review JCPenny clothes since they are more affordable than Nordstrom! I would’ve immediately order a pair of these shoes but couldn’t bring myself to pay almost $9 for shipping after getting such a great sale price. Whomp! Whomp!

Wow! that is steep…usually the coupons help offset shipping, or include free shipping!

I ordered really cute shoes from JCP on ship to store. Sad to say they did not arrive in the promised shipping (up to 7 business days), but nearly a week later. Allow PLENTY of time if you need by a certain date. And I kept being passed from customer service to store repeatedly trying to get status of. Cute stuff though.

Oh, that’s always so disappointing. I’ve had good luck ordering online so far.

Love love love this!!! AND as mentioned above, thank you for including JCP to your featured stores… I shop there quite a bit (it’s closer to me and more affordable for me than Nordy!) but it’s good to see the outfits on real people instead of just on the racks!! I have those shoes in black and now I’m thinking about getting the printed pair to go with a black dress I recently got at ON! 😃

    You’re always gorgeous!

Hi Cassie! I just discovered you and i also live in Dallas! I really love your style…You’ve inspired me to accessorize more and add more color to my wardrobe! Although I can’t stop shopping your looks😬!
I have a question…could you tell me the exact denim jacket that is in your photos? I really love it! The one that you have linked isn’t the same and I really like the one you’re wearing better.
    Thank you!
