Hello friends and happy Wednesday! We’re already halfway through the week, and we’re expecting loads of sunshine for the next few days, and it’s Cinco de Mayo! All good news I needed to hear, especially considering we discovered yet another leak as a result of the winter storms we had in February!!
Yep, our second hot water heater has been slowly drip-dropping for a couple of months now. The good news is the overflow pan caught it all, and they think it’s just a repair, rather than a replace! #praise Funny enough, I just started searching for floor samples this week, given we’re already replacing the entire downstairs because of the other leaks.
With this beautiful weather (and all the hub-bub in the house!), we’re spending more time than ever in our backyard. We did the big spring clean of the patio last weekend, and I’m looking for a few new things to spruce it up after our ridiculous winter.
Of course Amazon was my first stop, and I’ve found some darling new things. Here are a few new finds if you’re doing a little patio refresh, too!
one. Sun Shade // We installed similar shades on our patio after the renovation, and man oh man… they are a MUST for our hot and sunny Texas summers! Having these in your backyard will lengthen the amount of time you can spend outside. They mount easily to your ceiling or pergola, and roll up and down whenever you need them.
two. Wind Chimes // I love the peaceful sounds of a wind chime, especially in the morning before the neighborhood wakes up. These have a beautiful tone and sound and are stylish, too.
three. Wall Baskets // These baskets rival the more expensive sets, but for a fraction of the price! We have some hanging over the outdoor grill area, and I love the look!
four. Striped Umbrella // Stripes are always a good idea, and pair well with most every other pattern. This umbrella fits into an existing patio table, or you can grab a base and set it up wherever you need some shade! Under $50 and waterproof!
five. String Lights // These lights are a must for your pergolas and outdoor spaces… 25 feet long and under $20! They even make dinners of hot dogs on a paper plate feel special!
six. Set of 2 Club Chairs // These chic and durable chairs are giving me all the Pottery Barn vibes (but without the PB price tag!). I love the lighter teak wood and water-resistant cushions! Pair them with a woven sofa for an eclectic set.
seven. Jute Pouf // This is an easy decor piece that would look good on any patio! Use it as extra seating, a foot ottoman, or even a little side table to rest your drink. And last time I checked, it was almost 40% off!
eight. Outdoor Rug // Adding an outdoor rug to your patio is the simplest change with the biggest impact! Throwing a rug over your concrete or wooden planks will instantly brighten up the patio, plus make it comfier and cozier on your feet! This one can take a beating, and cleans up with a quick rinse of the hose.
nine. Bar Cart // Chips and margaritas would fit perfectly on this cart, don’t you think?! It looks sleek and stylish, but also functional! Tuck it in a corner, against the wall, or behind the sofa as a console… the uses and spaces are endless.
ten. Plant Stand // Plant stands are a simple way to update basic pots, plus allow for better drainage. You can use pots you already have or add these pretty white ones to your cart! The stands can also be flipped upside down for varying heights.
eleven. Palm Leaf Pillow Cover // We added these to our patio this year, and I’m smitten! Palm print is timelessly chic, and pairs so well with a range of other patterns. Plus, who doesn’t love to add a dose of tropical to their patio?! (I use these outdoor inserts for all our pillows and they last several seasons.)
twelve. Tassel Pillow Cover // Tassels and stripes, sign me up! This neutral pillow cover would look good both outside and indoors, and looks especially great when paired with a floral print.
We can’t very well spruce up the patio but leave the front porch barren and alone! I keep mine pretty minimal with a new mat and wreath, plus fresh plants. Here are some stylish pieces I found to give your porch a little refresh, too.
one. Striped Door Mat  // These doormats add so much style to a porch, and don’t break the bank! This chic little mat is perfect for those who prefer something simple.
two. Eucalyptus Wreath // My beloved boxwood wreath is currently sold out, but this eucalyptus looks amazing, too! I love the slightly wild and untamed feel about it, making it look so natural and freshly picked. It comes with a sturdy storage box, as well.
three. Lanterns with Flameless Candles // This set of two lanterns comes with battery-powered candles for safe and convenient light! I have a similar set from last year and still love the look.
four. Topiary // Flanking topiaries make any front porch look instantly pulled together! And of course, the best part is that I can’t kill these!
five. Planter Box // This planter box looks SO nice, with easy assembly and proper water draining! Perfect style and size for the topiaries.
six. Wall Sconce // Loving the clean lines and simplicity of this sconce! We need to update ours, and I think these might be just the ones! We hung something very similar by the Sugar Shack front door, and I love it.
seven. Layered Door Mat // I learned the hard way that not only do these checkered rugs make stylish layer for door mats, but they also protect the porch floor. Some of the color mats bleed or leave residue when it rains, but this rug prevents all that! Plus, it looks cute!
eight. Hello Door Mat // Well, hello!! I love the simple and clean font of this happy mat. Of course layered over the checkered rug!
I honestly don’t go through a single day without using something I found on Amazon, and so much of my decor is from Prime! Are you refreshing your porch or patio yet? Summer is coming, friends, it’s time to get ready!
What’s your favorite find lately? Even more importantly, is it margarita time yet?!
