hi Sugarplum!

Fall Touches Around the Sugarplum House

October 17, 2018

Well, it’s officially no longer Summer, but now it feels like we skipped Fall and went straight to Winter! We woke up 40-degrees this morning, and for Texas folk, that’s Winter! Hopefully we’ll see the sunny, crisp Fall days soon…and I’ll be ready!

Between holidays and family birthdays, we have a lot to celebrate this season, so I like to add a few seasonal touches to the house to make it more festive. Most of the decor is focused on the front porch, but I scatter a few peeks around the house, too.

It doesn’t require much, and as opposed to themed decor, I stick with mostly warm textures like pillows, throws, and assorted bowl fillers.

This console table is one of my favorite spots to decorate (see it styled three ways here), and it’s visible from pretty much the entire downstairs. I stick a removable Command hook to the front for wreaths. The art is a Little Miss original, and I’m obsessed with it! (See her full art gallery here.)

The grocery store is a great resource for florals…this arrangement is faux flowers in a real pumpkin. Fingers crossed it lasts through Thanksgiving!

And don’t forget eBay is another great source for seasonal decor (also dying over their assortment of pet costumes!)! So many brand new items, most with free shipping and returns.

You can also prep your Kitchen for all the holiday baking with their wide range of appliances (like stand-up mixers under $200!). You know I’m hooked on their Dyson Outlet, where I found our new vacuum wizard and scored a hair dryer for a steal!

Do you decorate for Fall, or save it up for Christmas? What are your favorite ways to add seasonal touches around the house?

I think my favorite fall touch are those white pumpkins in the lanterns on your front steps. I have a thing for white pumpkins. Your home looks so beautiful with perfect, sweet fall accents!

That painting is amazing. Between Little Miss’s fine art and singing, you have quite a talented artist on your hands. Oh, and the house looks great!

Please please please let me know where your kitchen (dinning chairs) are from. I didn’t see them on your source list. I love them and are just what I’ve been looking for. Thanks so much!

Little Miss is enormously talented! Love her art work on your console table. I adore decorating for fall and have a collection of velvet pumpkins of various hues (including leopard!!) which I purchase on Etsy from the artist SSDesign7. Your wreath is so pretty against the blue door.

I thought I left a comment on the blog but it is not showing up so I will use my phone to say Little Miss is enormously talented! Her artwork is so cheerful. I like the cats with their curly tails! The wreath is pretty against the blue door. I decorate fall with velvet pumpkins I purchase on Etsy at SSDesign7 . Leopard pumpkins too;) Enjoy cozy fall nesting moments with your family, pooches, and coffee☕

Love your small touches of fall and the great idea of adding a small wreath to your entry table (very chic!). Can you tell me where the art print came from in your breakfast room? I always love visiting your blog.

Thank you so much!! That’s from a local artist…you can find her on Instagram under Gypsy Soul Interiors. She does stunning work and I’m obsessed with her use of color!

Cassie, Can you share where you purchased your planters on your front porch from (the blue and white ones)? I’ve been looking for some like these. Thanks
