Happy new week!! How was your weekend? We had the best time celebrating the dads in our lives, especially Mr. SP. He really is the center and life of our family, and surprises me everyday with his humor, patience, and devotion to us. We’re actually celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary this week, too, so I’m pretty much a big ball of mush for him right now. Do you realize I’ve been with him longer than without?!
He’s (almost) always a good sport when it comes to my plans and ideas, and he’s been the biggest supporter of my passion for this blog. Even when it requires him to change out of his beloved jeans and t-shirts.
But somewhere along the line, I kind of created a clothes-horse monster! The day after our Scandinavian Cruise invitation arrived, he was at Nordstrom buying a new suit! “I need it for Formal Nights, babe!!”
To be fair, he only owned one, and it’s better suited (#punny) for Winter. I was a little hesitant for him to shop alone, because #man, but the associates steered him in the right direction! I would have never chosen a blue suit, but it looks amazing on him, and the color is so versatile!

Formal Nights quickly became my favorites on the ship, simply for the excuse to dress up for each other. Let’s be real, the man sees me in a baseball cap enough…it’s good for a marriage to show your best side on occasion!

The dress code is pretty flexible for Formal Night, you’ll see everything from jeans and a sport coat, to sequined dresses. I skip the sequins and go with pretty maxi dresses, or a party dress. And if dressing up isn’t your thing, there’s always a number of other restaurants to choose from on a Princess Cruise that are perfect for casual wear. Or even better, stay in your cabin and order (free!!) room service!
Mr. SP only packs a few collared shirts (this Nordstrom style is his favorite, for both fit and ease of packing with no wrinkles!), and rotates them with jeans, slacks and a suit.

You may recall I tried several maxi dresses for this trip….but the stunning blue and floaty pleated chiffon of this one made it the hands-down winner. Bonus that we totally coordinated, too! #promdateforlife
Fit Tip: This dress brand is my go-to for formal events and maxi dresses, and the petite sizing means no alterations for me! I’m wearing a 2P.
Isn’t the Skywalk on the Regal Princess the coolest…and a little scary?! It’s on the top floor of the ship, and literally extends out over the side, with a see-thru floor that looks all the way down to the ocean!! It’s my favorite spot for watching the sunset, too.
Do you have any special occasions or fancy date nights planned this Summer? Here’s a few gorgeous dresses to consider!

You guys look great – I love the way you both dressed in blue to match the setting of the cruise!

Great pics! Y’all look AMAZING!!!! I never would have picked a blue suit either, but I love it. And that dress on you!
You both look so wonderful! And happy anniversary!
Love these pictures..
These are great photos! Your dress is beautiful and I love it with the pink shoes and statement earrings! You and your hubby look like a perfect pair. Congrats on 19 years of marriage!
Who does your photography onboard the ship? The photos are excellent.
I was going to ask the same question! But also about all your photographs, they are so professional I’ve wondered if if you use the same photog or have several?
I was wondering the same thing! Such great photos. Curious who took them for you
One of the many perks of traveling with bloggers is there’s plenty of talented and willing photographers around! My friend Jared of Sugar & Cloth blog shot these for us just before heading to dinner one night. As for the rest of my photos…travel pics are by Mr. SP and me, and most outfit pics are by my darling friend Mary Summers or my family! xoxo
Beautiful photos. I wish I could wear so many sleeveless tops and dresses — it would cause me to go to the gym too to get toned and sculpted arms.
Love that you are both matching in blue with pops of pink! Even the skywalk is blue! Happy Anniversary! It’s our 12th this Saturday.
Happy day to you, lovebugs!!! xoxoxo
I own this dress in solid royal blue. This dress looks excellent on MANY, as I am not slender in the mid-section. Great material, great flow. I purchased it for our hospital gala fundraiser and recommend it to others indeed!
Awesome…thanks so much Andrea! It’s a gorgeous dress for sure!
Wow! You look gorgeous. Your photos from your cruise are getting me so excited for the my upcoming cruise. I love the Skywalk, it’s so cold up there at night it’s crazy.

Yes, we were freezing…and it was so windy! We took these in about 1.5 minutes! 😉 But it’s so pretty up there it was worth it!
Seriously… you two couldn’t have dressed anymore perfect and what a gorgeous spot on the ship for the photos, too! LOVE!
