Sugarplum Style | What I Wore on the Scandinavian Cruise

Cheers to Friday, my friends!! How was your week? I’ve decided jet lag might be my new best friend…I’ve gone to bed before 10 every night this week! Passed out is a more accurate description, but either way, I don’t remember the last time I had 8+ hours a sleep every night for a week! #nightowl

Today it’s time for another round ofĀ Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share onĀ InstagramĀ andĀ Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. My hope is that they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things. This batch is all from our trip, so you’ll get a peek into the stops our Princess Cruise made, along with how I dress on the ship!

We flew from Dallas to Copenhagen…so comfort was key! These joggers are amazingly soft, and held their shape well after a long night of being crumpled up in Coach seats. I may have felt like a hot mess when we arrived, but I still looked fairly pulled together. I swapped out the jacket and shoes for this cardigan and these socks during the flight, and was snug as a bug!

It was chilly atĀ most of our ports, but we got really lucky with beautiful sunshine almost every day. One of my favorite parts of Europe are all the colorful buildings and stunning doorways…so of course I had to lurk in as many as possible. #soblogger This lightweight sweater layered beautifully for cooler days, but will be so cute worn alone in the warmer temps at home.

Oslo, Norway had the cutest marina, lined with cafes and ice cream stands…and it was bustling with locals since we were there on a holiday.Ā It was trippyĀ being amongst so many fellow blondes with blue eyes!! ThisĀ layered peplum sweatshirt got all the compliments, and is now on sale.

We had plenty of down-time on the beautiful Regal Princess, but several chances to get dressed-up, too. This black dress was perfect for Formal Night, and hitting up the little club after dinner.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small for more eating breathing room, and slightly longer length. It has a lace back, so this bra is perfect!

The most unexpected town was Porvoo, Finland…it was like stepping into the village from Beauty and the Beast. I fit right in with my colorful stripes…which I’m obsessed with, by the way. This sweater is super lightweight, making it a perfect layer, or even throwing on with shorts. It was my favorite purchase for the trip! These rainboots happen to be packable (oh yeah, I said packable!), and came in handy on more than one occasion!

In the three trips we’ve taken with Princess Cruises, we’ve seen some really amazing things from the ship’s decks. But hands-down the coolest was sailingĀ under this bridge,Ā while watching this intense sunset!!Ā Seeing the massive ship navigate through the narrow opening, with the bridge looming overhead, was something I’ll never forget. On a style note, this is what I wore for a casual dinner in their delicious pizzeria, Alfredos.

It’s safe to say I’m now a cruise junkie, and actually live for the ‘At Sea’ days. We sleep late, have room service (it’s free onboard, did you know that?!?), sleep some more, and spend the remainder of the day in the Lotus Spa. I had the best spa experience of my life on this trip…the Seaweed Wrap & Massage. #trustme I couldn’t resist this super-soft anchor tee, and of course the gingham sleep shorts are speaking my love language. And would you believe that I’ve lugged that book on three trips, and have yet to read a page!!??

You know my go-to dress came with me (in two colors!)…it just always works! Somehow it’s cute with both sneakers and heels, never wrinkles, and folds down to the size of a deck of cards. It’s basically magic.

I brought along this cheery yellow rain jacket in case of wet weather, but it was actually the perfect little coat for chilly or windy days, too! I ended up wearing it more than any other, and not just because it made every outfit cuter! And happier. It’s fully lined (in the cutest striped flannely-cotton), so it provides a good amount of warmth, and the thick, canvas outer shell worked well as a windbreaker, too. And of course it was perfect when it did, in fact, rain. So I’d call this an all-purpose happy jacket!

Fit Tip: I sized up to a 4.

This was right before the insanely-buff fitness instructor kicked my butt in the TRX class on the ship. The only thing cute after that class was this top. I’ve had this exact pair of cropped workout pants for years, and they’ve yet to fade, stretch or wear out! There’s a reason they’re my faves!

Every night is Date Night on a Princess Cruise! And I jump at any chance to wear this lace midi dress.

Lace Overlay Dress (similar) | Earrings

I’m not sure what’s cuter here…that door, or the bows on my sleeves!? They’re striped, and built-in!!! (The bows, not the door.) And not pictured, but always present:Ā Ā my cherry yellow jacket.

Bow Sleeve Sweatshirt | White Jeans | Sneakers | Crossbody Bag | Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

Russia. Oh man, I can’t wait to share Russia with you guys!! Let’s just say I spent the day looking up (and maybe a little over my shoulder, too…because, Russia), and gawking. They know how to do gold leaf!! I layered my pinks for a day of exploring palaces like I’ve never seen.

Gingham Shirt | Pink Pullover | Jeans | Sneakers | Crossbody Bag

You may have noticed, I wore one of two sneakers most every day…and paired with these no-show socks, neither let me down! I was extremely comfy, and still stylish, in both these slip-ons and these sneakers. And we logged over 145,000 steps, so I think I’m practically an expert in the area of walkable, chic shoes.

Slip-On Shoes | No-Show Socks

An experience so nice, we saw it twice! And even with the cloudy skies, it was still a bright night…this photo was taken around 9pm! I opted for a more casual combo for our last evening on the ship, but dressed it up with a moto jacket and heels.

Strappy Tank | Moto Jacket | Distressed Jeans | Heels

This top was perfect for the nights I wanted to look like I tried, but was too tired to actually try. (You follow me?) It will be my go-to for girls night out and date night all Summer, too!

Cold-Shoulder Top | Tassel EarringsĀ | Bra | White Jeans

What kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t pose in front of a pink wall?! It’s practically in the handbook. Tallinn, Estonia was basicallyĀ a blogger dream…the whole Old Town was hosed down in the prettiest shades of pink!

Bow-Sleeve Sweatshirt | Crossbody Bag | Sunglasses | White Jeans

We were treated to a 4-course Winemakers Dinner one evening, that was even more amazing than it sounds. This sassy off-the-shoulder dress was not only chic and perfect for an evening event, but the blousey shape left all the room for desserts! I received so many compliments on it, I’m seriously considering it in another color (it comes in 10!)

Fit Tip: It runs large and long, so size down and even consider a petite if you’re under 5’6″. I’m wearing an XXS Petite.

  1. What I’d give to have jetlag that sends me to sleep at 10pm! I’ve been sleeping super late… last night I slept at 5am, so it’s no surprise I’m out and sick today…

What size are your darling Tippi

I sized up to a small in each…simply bc they are on the thin side, and I like to layer them. My usual size shows too much of the bunched-up shirt underneath, know what I mean? And yes, I plan to wear them alone all Summer with the sleeves pushed up! So cute with shorts and skirts!

The sweaters are really thin…similar to a long-sleeved tee! I plan on wearing them alone with shorts, sleeves pushed up! They are too cute to wait for Fall šŸ˜‰

So interesting to read this particular post as I am doing the same trip in 4 weeks time. Cassie you have confirmed my thoughts on what to pack especially given that we are continuing on to Iceland and further afield. Coming from the tropics in Australia everywhere else is cold to me! I am looking forward to seeing more posts on this trip. Thanks for the tip on Porvoo. Anything else not to be missed would be greatly appreciated.

I am consuming your information as quickly as I can while I am trying to pack for our Baltic cruise in two days! I appreciate your style very much especially since it is translatable to a size 14 gal who is 5’7″. I am sure you have a packing list somewhere too and I shall find it!
