Best of 2018 | Decor Projects

Happy New Years Eve, friends! Do you have big plans to hit the town or crash your couch? We’re doing a little of both…first up is reservations at our fave spot, then home to pajamas, movies, and chocolate fondue!

It’s hard to believe 2018 is coming to a close already, but there’s nothing like the new year to get a fresh perspective on life, and take charge of the chaos! Now that the holiday decor is (mostly) packed away, I have a sudden urge to clean every nook and cranny of our house. Not to mention, get cracking on all our unfinished spaces!

Granted, we’ve made a big dent in many of them since moving to this house three years ago, but there are still a few that remain untouched from the day we moved in. I didn’t accomplish all the spaces I intended last year, but when I sat down to write this post, I was surprised by just how much we did achieve!

The biggest and most exciting was definitely the Kitchen remodel! I can’t believe how far this space has come…and with mostly just tile and paint!

Kitchen | The Renovation Reveal!

I’ve yet to do an official reveal on the Breakfast Room, but you got a pretty good look at it in this post. We’ve since started a huge backyard project that has big changes in store for that wall of windows! I’ll definitely be sad to see my favorite palm print drapes from Tonic Living go.

Our downstairs family room got a big gallery wall, drapes, and shades. See more of the room in this post.

Our master bedroom got a refresh with updated duvet, shams, and pillows.

Our backyard got a lot of use, and some sprucing up, as well.

After three years of stops and starts, we finally finished Little Miss’s room…and I’d say she’s pretty pleased! It’s the perfect reflection of her, too…color, spunk, and personality!

Project Little Miss | The Reveal!

For the first time ever, we have a dedicated guest room…so it was about time we actually got around to designing it! I shared our plans here, and quite a bit of progress here. For a peek at the new wallpaper, check out this post.

We did some simple decorating for Fall, but I loved all the little touches.

Fall Touches Around the Sugarplum House

I have plans in the New Year for a full Home Tour post, including sources, paint colors, etc…but until then, you can see most of the house in our Sugarplum Christmas post.

This year I’m determined to decorate my office and finish the guest room. And stay tuned for the big outdoor project! If you follow me on Instagram Stories, you can see everything so far in the ‘Patio Project’ highlight video in my profile. Email subscribers also get project sneak peeks before they hit the blog (sign up here)!

Which home project was your favorite? Are you tackling any in your house this year? Happy New Years Eve, lovebugs…I hope it’s a safe and warm one! See you back here tomorrow for a look back at our Travels.

P.S. See all the decor projects from this house here.

Happy New Year 2019 to you and your family! I loved your kitchen and the family room gallery wall and Little Miss’ artwork the best:) I’m hooked on the KonMari method and am trying to organize my dresser drawers like she does, rolling things up and admiring their cuteness haha. So grateful for your home decorating improvement projects and looking forward to your 2019 projects in all categories. xo

I love everything but I am completely obsessed with your kitchen tile. I live for black and white anything and it looks so good! Great eye.
