Winter Brights | Pink & Black

Today’s outfit in the {5 Ways} Winter Brights series is the type of fun and flirty combo that makes it perfect for everything from work to parties. The color of the skirt is full of personality, but the modest a-line fit keeps it office-appropriate…not to mention, super flattering. It’s so versatile, I could easily create a full {5 Ways} around it, but I paired it with a lightweight black sweater and classic accessories for today’s timeless look.

Who can resist a skirt with a little swoosh?! After all, fashion is meant to be fun! I kept the jewels at a minimum so the color-blocked pattern could shine, but when pairing the skirt with a solid color, I’d add chunky pearls like these.

Fit Tip: The sweater is lightweight, so it makes a great layer, but can also be worn alone. I found it runs small, and sized up (I’m wearing a small).

These patent pumps are timeless, but with enough sass that they’re great for work or the dance floor!

What’s been your favorite look so far this week? I hope I’ve given your Winter wardrobe a nudge in the colorful direction! I’m wrapping up the series tomorrow with a cozy weekend look, featuring my hands-down favorite leggings!

This is so adorable! I love the pink skirt- that twirling photo is perfection! The color block sweater is a smart choice to add some interest to this outfit. Very chic!

What size is your skirt? I’m always so unsure on sizing when ordering skirts that hit at your natural waist.

I tend to size down for fuller skirts that sit on the waist, simply because I want to make sure and get a tight fit (making the waist look smaller!). I’m wearing an XS in this skirt, and it’s still got some wiggle room in the waist. xo

    1. This is seriously amazing and is totally inspiring me to reconfigure our closet. 2. You have A LOT of handbags. 3. I love the scarf organization and I’m going to use that for my own scarves. And 4. I think it’s hilarious that you have a garment hook in your closet.

LOL, thanks Diane!! I thought it was hilarious when The Container Store brought it over, but soon discovered how handy (and necessary!) it was! Twelve-foot ceilings are no joke for my 5’4″ frame! 😉 xoxo
