Happy Friday, friends! It’s been an exciting week, and I can’t thank you enough for your kind words and support for our newspaper feature, and Pottery Barn Challenge reveal. (Have you voted yet?!) #pleasepleaseplease Our son flew solo to visit his grandparents in Michigan yesterday, and I somehow managed to not embarrass him by crying and clutching him to me. It wasn’t easy. But now that he’s arrived safely, we can enjoy Babygirl as an only-child for two weeks! This is what else is going on around here….
1) I was honored to be asked to speak at the Haven Conference later this Summer, and even more excited when I found out Megan, Courtney and Carmel were on the panel with me. We’re working hard on our ‘Using Social Media to Grow Your Blog’ session, and I’d love to know how you use social media. If you’re a blogger, which of Facebook, Twitter, InstaGram and Pinterest, are your favorites? What more would you like to know about them?
If you’re not a blogger, how do you prefer to follow your favorite blogs? What don’t you like about how bloggers use social media? We really want this session to be helpful and informative, so no question or comment is too small or off-limits. And I know most of you aren’t attending the conference, but I hope to share the information with you on the blog afterwards.
2) Speaking of
conferences, I guess it’s finally time I acted like a big-girl-blogger,
and got some business cards. Jotting my blog name on the back of a
receipt is no longer cutting it, and not exactly the impression I want
to give. I went straight to my favorite paper source….Pixelimpress!
Pam isn’t kidding, her card and invitation designs are
seriously cute! In fact, so cute that I’m having a hard time choosing a
design for my new cards. You guys are never shy with your opinions, so
tell me which design you like and associate with Hi Sugarplum.
3) Jenny at Simcoe Street took a little bloggy break to have a sweet baby girl, and hosted a fun series about what makes your house a dream home. She’s got a great round-up of bloggers like Honey We’re Home, 6th Street Design School, Our Fifth House, Crazy Wonderful and more. What do you think is my favorite part about our home? Hop over to Jenny’s to find out!
4) Who wants to win a $100 Visa gift card? Or rather, who doesn’t want to win a $100 Visa gift card?! Because if you haven’t entered, I’m assuming it’s because $100 is chump-change for you. All you have to do is comment on my cute Summer Table. There’s only a few days left to be $100 richer!
5) And finally, I want to wish this darling man a Happy 15th Anniversary today! We’ve lived in four homes, moved cross-country, gone through major career changes,
lost loved ones, had two kids and traveled the world….it’s been an adventure, and I’ve
loved every second! I love you, my sweet, my groom, my one and only.
You can read about my grandmother’s wedding dress I wore here and here.
I’ve given you a lot to talk about…so let’s hear it! Happy weekend, lovebugs!
Happy Anniversary Cassie- you two are darling. I love the business card ideas! Im not into twitter but we love #1 Pinterest #1 Instagram #3 facebook I'd say in that order. Pinterest is one we use for client projects and do a folder on each client that they can see, so that is so great. Have a wonderful weekend.
xo Nancy
Awe I love your wedding picture! Gorgeousness!!!! Happy Anniversary! I love card options #1 and #3! I'm a social media addict and can't wait to hear what learn! Instagram is my fave, followed by Pinterest, Facebook, and finally Twitter (we have a love-hate relationship). I would love to know more tips on how to use Pinterest to grow an audience.
I'm loving #1 or #2 for the cards. Happy weekend, girl!
For your business cards designs, I'd go with #1. Very classy, but still a lot of fun!
Wish I was going to Haven this summer. Sounds like fun. I like business card #1 🙂
oh, and Happy Anniversary! And I voted for your POttery Barn party set-up – so cute and colorful.
Happy Anniversary! I wish I had got a ticket to Haven before it sold out. I like #1 the best!
You look like Grace Kelly in your wedding photo 🙂
I have to get on ordering biz cards. I'm so last minute!!
Pinterest, Facebook and instagram are my favorite social media. I am on twitter, but I really don't like it much. I am a blogger, but before I was a blogger a big way that I found the blogs I wanted to read was to go to blog rolls on the blogs I loved and just started clicking! That is how I found virtually every one of my favorite blogs that I read every day. And I found you on Our Fifth House when you participated in some kind of a fashion post of hers. So glad I found you too, because I could not live without having seen your fabulous dining room!
Happy Anniversary! Love this. Your are so on top of it with your cards, too. Love Pixelimpress.
Love your wedding picture! Happy Anniversary!
I like #3 the best.
Beautiful wedding photo! What a blessed week you've had Cassie! Have a great weekend!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! And I love the card design #1…but really I love them all, but you made me choose 🙂
Card design #1 is my favorite. I LOVE your wedding dress, and such a great story!
I use Facebook mostly, and am trying to remember to use Instagram more. I don't tweet or blog, and only use Pinterest when I'm working on something specific (I don't really 'browse'), but I think that makes me unusual. 🙂
Happy Anniversary!!
So sad to be missing out on Haven this year! But if I was going I'd definitely want to know more about using FB and Twitter to promote my blog. I'm starting to get the hang of Pinterest and pinnable images, I think.
Also I think card #1 is the best reflection of your blog/brand.
Hi…I've had a blog for a few years now but I just opened a new Etsy shop recently, so I've been a lot of social networking lately (or at least trying). I really like Pinterest…..I would say FB comes in 2an. If you have a chance, please come by….we are having a giveaway for a gift certificate to help celebrate the opening!

Oh cute blog by the way…I am your newest follower!

I vote for number 1. Happy Anniversary! My husband and I celebrated our 16th last Friday. Hard to believe its been that long already.
Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful wedding photo – gorgeous bride! I hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating.
#1 or #2. I like the others but I think they're a tad too busy, and your name doesn't stand out as well as the first two.
And Happy Anniversary! You're a happy and beautiful couple.
Happy anniversary!! Hope you guys had a wonderful day. All the best for many many many more anniversaries together.
And thank you sooo much for guest posting for me, and for sharing it here!

I love card # 1. I think it's perfect for your blog. Wish I was going to be at Haven to meet all you wonderful ladies. I use bloglovin to follow all my fav blogs, but I like to go through my bookmarks on my browser and visit that way too. My fav social media outlets are Pinterest and Instagram. Facebook is ok and I don't use Twitter.
What a beautiful wedding photo. Happy anniversary!!
Your wedding dress and veil are absolutely stunning (as are you and your hubby). You look a lot like your grandmother. Have a great time at the Haven Conference.
#1 for sure!!!!! Love it!
And I love that you wore our grandmother's dress! Totally classic and you looked GORGEOUS!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
