Sugarplum Style, Vol. 80

Welcome back to a new week, lovebugs! The teen and I have one last college tour this morning, but it looks like he’s chosen a school! It’s been an amazing weekend…not only because of the one-on-one time we’ve spent together, but also the newfound peace I have about him going away to school in the Fall.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s going to be brutal, and I’ll miss him like crazy…but he’s going to be okay. I’ll be okay. I know that now. And I’m grateful for the peace and clarity we both found this weekend. I’m sure my emotions will flip-flop 87 times before now and then, but right now, I’m excited about what lies ahead.

Today on the blog it’s time for another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. I hope they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.

And with Spring weather being so fickle, there’s a lot of light layers…starting with one of my go-to jackets for Spring and Fall. You know I’m passionate about utility jackets, in fact, I shared 15 ways to wear them here. The olive hue goes with just about everything, plus the style adds a bit of ruggedness to outfits. This leopard sweater has been a fave for years, and is so soft and comfy I find myself reaching for it often.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS jacket, but sized up to a small in the sweater for a relaxed fit.

Another go-to on chilly Spring days, this ruffle neck sweater is soft and light…and of course, I’m smitten for the vibrant pink. I paired it with tortoise and leopard to cut the sweetness a little.

Fit Tip: I sized up one to a small for a relaxed fit.

No I’m not wearing my daughter’s pajamas…but who says our PJs can’t be cute and fun, too!? Tons of patterns available, but I love the pink and purple combo of these. Plus, they’re super comfy.

Fit Tip: I sized up one to a small. They do shrink in length a little when washed.

Pajamas (20 prints available!)

Several travel styles this month…starting with these fun new camo joggers! The sandblasted material is so soft and light, perfect for travel and running around town. I paired it with soft fleece and my trusty jean jacket for a casual, but cute, travel day. And for the second trip in a row, I managed to fit everything I needed in a carry-on!! (eBags make it happen!)

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS joggers, but would prefer a size down. The pullover and jacket are both XS.

Many of my daily outfits never make it past my Instagram Story…do you follow those? It’s a lot of the silly, mundane, day-to-day, and family life…with some easy outfits thrown in, too. Like this striped tee and button-fly jeans…so simple, but perfect for a regular #momlife day.

Fit Tip: The tee is XS and jeans are a great mid-rise with a lot of comfy stretch. I’m wearing a 2.

A quick trip to NYC surely requires this graphic tee with a nod to the Big Apple, right? I paired it with my new camo joggers and light wash jean jacket for a casual day.

Fit Tip: The tee and jacket are true, I wear an XS, but I’d recommend sizing down in the pants. The sneakers are true for me, too.

This knit pullover quickly became a Spring staple…both Mama Sugarplum and I have been wearing them on repeat! (She has the solid lavender.) It’s so soft and comfy, and a great mid-weight.

Fit Tip: I sized up to a small in the top, but size down in the shorts.

Hi, I live here. But seriously…what if you came home to this darling stoop every day? We had glorious weather our first day in NYC, and these light layers were perfect. I have this merino crewneck sweater in several colors…they’re perfect for layering and pack like a dream. And of course my jean jacket is always with me!

Fit Tip: I size up to a small it the sweater, but the jeans and jacket are true…I’m wearing XS and regular 2.

Not the best pic, but definitely a jumpsuit worth checking out! It’s drapey and soft, with a cute cut-out on the back (but still bra-friendly). It’s so comfy and easy-to-wear, but still effortlessly chic…perfect for a night at the theatre!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 0.

Yep, there’s the striped pullover again. I’m drawn to the soft material and fun stripes!

This popular halter dress now comes in a fun pink palm…and is perfect for day and night. See what I mean in this post.

We had an early flight home from NYC, so it was cozy joggers and pullover for me. And shocker, my jean jacket! My friends at Gibson just released this darling striped pullover…I’m crazy about the light weight and hood. It comes in several spring colors, but I’m partial to the black and white. And if you use code HISUGARPLUM, it ships free!

Fit Tip: Everything true to size, I’m in XS in jacket, hoodie pullover, and fleece joggers.

Who doesn’t love eyelet for Spring?! This pullover sweatshirt is thick and sturdy (but not bulky), with the cutest eyelet peplum hem. (And 30% off!!) I paired it with high-rise jeans in a great light wash. And notice the earrings…my favorite outfit-makers lately!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS sweatshirt and size 2 jeans.

This pocket tee is sure to be in heavy rotation year-round…in this soft lilac and the other colors already on their way to me! I can’t believe the price for the quality, and love starting the season with fresh tees. (See more affordable styles like this here.)

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small tee.

A night at the theatre calls for a little sass…and these leopard pants were so fun! Also worth noting, capturing an outfit pic in the middle of Times Square is HARD!
