Sugarplum Style | Vol. 79

Happy Monday from the Bahamas!! We arrived in Exuma yesterday, and it totally blew all our expectations! The water is unlike anything I’ve seen, and already I love the slow, quiet pace of this little island. My friend Emily has been raving about it for years, and now I see what all the fuss is about!

We’re headed out to swim with the pigs today….oh yeah, you read that right! I’m not sure how I feel about it, but you can watch it unfold on my Instagram Story.

Today on the blog it’s time for another round of Sugarplum Style, snapshots of my everyday outfits I share on Instagram and Facebook, created by mixing and matching items in my closet. I hope they inspire you to stretch your wardrobe further by mixing up what you already have, and thoughtfully add new things.

Looking back over the last season, it’s safe to say this knit blazer was one of my top five purchases! My cost-per-wear has to be down to pennies by now! It’s so easy and comfortable, yet makes even a basic tank and jeans outfit infinitely more chic and pulled together. The knit makes it a seasonless piece, so expect to continue seeing it on repeat.

Fit Tip: I sized down for a shrunken fit, I’m wearing XS-petite. The jeans are my go-to black, and true to size, I’m wearing 26.

Blazer | Pants | Tank | Flats | Earrings | Belt

Never not wearing pink, regardless of the season! I love this sweater for those days when I’m anxious for Spring, but it’s still pretty chilly. It’s soft and a great mid-weight, and perfect for layering. My charm earrings are a new addition and such a fun accent.

Fit Tip: I size up one for a relaxed fit, I’m wearing a small.

Sweater | Jeans | Belt | Earrings | Chain Bracelet | Rings

I’ve spent a lot of time in airports lately, and I couldn’t be happier about it! I love going anywhere for any reason…especially when it involves meetings with Gibson for new Collections! #staytuned I have a pretty basic formula for travel style, depending on the day and destination. When comfort is key, I always go for joggers and my beloved Allbird sneakers. And I’m never without my trusty jean jacket!

Fit Tip: The joggers are true to size, I’m wearing an XS. Allbirds (literally the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn) only come in whole sizes, so I rounded up. The jacket is a slim fit, I’m wearing XS.

Jean Jacket | Striped Top | Joggers | Shoes | Suitcase | Bag

Do you follow my Instagram Stories? I often post outfits of the day there, that never make it to my Instgram or Facebook feed. This day was a casual embroidered tee from our Resort line, and sneakers. Notice the rings from my Sugarplum Top Five post?

Fit Tip: The tee is a loose fit, I’m wearing XS

We’re in that odd season when it’s too late for boots, but too cool for sandals. My go-to transitional shoes are always flats or sneakers, and these leopard flats see more action than any other. See how they add that little something-something extra to my neutral outfit?

Fit Tip: I love these merino crewnecks for transitional weather, too. I size up one for a more relaxed fit, wearing a small. The flats are true to size.

Sweater | Jeans | Flats | Belt | Bangle | Bracelet

One of my favorite outfits from the last month, I can’t get enough of this tropical print from our Resort Collection! And for those of you waiting for more Palm Springs Maxis, Naples Halter Dresses, and Catalina Ruffle Rompers…stay tuned here because the full restock is coming soon! (Did you know email subscribers hear news first? Sign up here.) See the rest of my outfits from Mexico here.

Fit Tip: The halter is adjustable thanks to the tie, but is still a generous fit. I’d size down one.

V-Neck Top | Shorts | Earrings | Bag | Sandals | Hat | Sunglasses | Bangles

Oh hey…there’s the knit blazer and ruffle neck sweater again, this time paired together. And of course the pop of leopard.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS-petite blazer, small sweater, and the flats are true to size.

Blazer | Jeans | Sweater | Loafers | Earrings | Belt | Rings

When in doubt (or a hurry!) for a night out, I go with all black. Or brighten it up a bit with black and white. I can never resist a pop of color, so I added these fun beaded earrings from my last Amazon Fashion Find (look for a new haul later this week!).

Fit Tip: The sweater is a small and jeans a 2.

Blouse | Jeans | Earrings | Belt | Bangle | Bracelet | Bangles

Coats in March? Texans certainly aren’t used to that, but I never mind the chance to wear this darling hooded coat and soft sweater. These boots have held strong for a couple of years, and keep my feet comfy and warm.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing XS coat and sweater, and boots are true to size.

City Coat | Sweater | Jeans | Boots | Sunglasses

I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever paired these two pieces…each has been a comfy favorite for ages, and together they make a cute little set! Especially when paired with rose gold sneakers.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS in the top and bottom, and I find the sneakers to be true to size.

V-neck Top | Joggers | Sneakers | Bracelet

I posted this as a throwback pic…and also to let you know this darling pullover tunic was 40% off! It’s totally reversible, too.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, it’s an oversized fit.

Sweater | Jeans | Sneakers

Same tunic in black, but styled a little more chic. It seriously feels like pajamas, so I reach for it at home and out.

Pullover Tunic | Jeans | Flats | Sunglasses | Bangles

Um, yeah…outfit repeater. I hesitated to include this pic in the post, but wanted to show that I often reach for the exact same outfit…sometimes days in a row! If I’m late, or not feeling it, I go with what I know works and feels good. The goal is to feel confident and beautiful in your clothes, and if that means yesterday’s outfit again today, then do it!

Blazer | Pants | Tank | Flats | Earrings | Belt | Bangle | Bracelet

We had a lot of fun in Winter Park, and I learned the real reason why North Face and Patagonia are so popular…not to mention the importance of snow boots! (See our Trip Report here, and tips for packing for a ski weekend here.)

Fit Tip: I size up in these coats and pullovers for a more relaxed fit, I’m wearing a small. See the rest of my ski weekend outfits here.

Puffer Coat | Fleece PulloverLeggings | Snow Boots

A quick trip to LA for more Gibson x Hi Sugarplum business…but a bag chock full of styling accessories for the new Resort Collection colors coming soon! This is the same v-neck pullover from above, but paired with jeans and a jacket for a more street style look.

Fit Tip: V-neck is a relaxed fit, I’m wearing an XS, but consider sizing down. Jeans are a 2.

Jean Jacket | Top | Jeans |Sneakers | Suitcase | Carry-On Tote | Bangle | Bracelet | Bangles

Remember this hooded cardigan from last week’s Dressing Room Diaries? It’s a favorite of mine and Mama Sugarplum’s…so soft and easy. The tote is a new addition from Barrington…I love the new monogram style option! (Literally 100s of customizable combinations!) Use code SUGARPLUM10 for 10% off.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS sweater in heather oatmeal. My tote is the St. Anne Zipper, larger than the everyday Savannah and great for travel.

Have a wonderful time in Exuma! We were there in November… our family of five, my brother and his family and our wonderful parents! It was a celebration of sorts as my mother had been very ill for a year! It was a trip of a lifetime with those I love the most:) The best day we had was an all day private excursion with Sugar Adventures… so much fun! We swam with the pigs, stopped at iguana island, my kids swam with sharks, we stopped at a sand bar (most beautiful place I’ve ever been) and they made conch salad for us, we toured miles of islands, dove for starfish, saw turtles and had a private lunch. Best day ever. I hope you enjoy the pigs today!

Wow! How about those swirls of turquoise waters when flying over those islands! Warning: Super hard to pack up and leave.
Every single piece of this post goes with all of the others! The blazer is ingenious. It would work well over anything, especially a cooler, dressier evening. Wish I though of that!
Love this joggers idea for any flight. Smart.
No need to tell you to have fun!
