Hey friends, and welcome back to a new week! Mr. SP and I returned home Saturday from our getaway, and I’m feeling so excited for the New Year and all that’s to come!
The rest and reconnection was much-needed, both as individuals and as a couple. With all that’s been thrown at us lately, it’s been hard to keep our marriage at the top of the priority list, so I’m grateful we were able to unplug from life’s distractions and find each other again. I actually hadn’t realized how much we’d drifted apart until we got away! It’s nice to have my best friend back.
These trips aren’t always easy to make happen, but are always 100% worth it! We look at them like a crash course of marriage therapy, except a little more fun, ha!
And from the number of messages I got last week, many of you are planning your own warm-weather getaways soon…and fortunately there’s no shortage of cute and colorful resort styles out now. I hit the vacation jackpot at Nordstrom before we left, and I think you’ll love these styles, too.

This is our second time back to Hotel Escencia, and it was even dreamier this time around (if that’s even possible!). I’ll share a full recap of our stay soon, but here are a few peeks to get you in the warm weather mood…along with some of the favorite styles I packed.
These palazzo pants are as fun to wear as they are cute! I love the lightweight, silky material, and the wide, elastic waistband is super comfy. I wore them over my swimsuits, and they’re just as cute with a white tank or tee.
Sugarplum Fit Tip: They run a little big, I’m in an XS.

This is my second swimsuit from the Sea Level brand, and it’s quickly becoming a fave! The quality is incredible, and the fit is super flattering. They are constructed for a true woman’s body and keep everything securely in place with all the right support and coverage! (See the other style I love HERE.)
Sugarplum Fit Tip: I’m wearing a 4, which is true to size for me with swimsuits.

Another fun pull-on style, this midi skirt had me at colorful color blocking! I wore it as both a coverup and with a tank for a darling daytime look. Definitely a favorite resort find for the trip!
Sugarplum Fit Tip: It’s true to size, I’m wearing an XS.

I love oversized cover-ups that easily allow me to go from pool to lunch, and this gauzy shirt is so chic! It’s a great longer length, with an open neckline and roll tab sleeves.

Beach bag must-haves for me always include a good book, wide brim hat, and Supergoop! Mr. SP and I both love the Glow Oil for all-over SPF that leaves skin super hydrated, and the Glow Stick is great for noses, lips and other quick spots.
These smaller sizes are great for travel!
Sugarplum Travel Tip: We use the larger size of Glow Oil at home, and keep a couple of the travel size containers on-hand for trips…they easily refill!

Thank you for taking us away. We really needed this!
Sandy I wish you had been there with me, ha! xo,C
Cassie wanna-be. In Mexico!
Beautiful as always! What a great way to start the new year. Your Nordstrom finds are on point! We just booked our beach trip for the summertime- I’m already excited for it!
Nordstrom is a fave for sure! And YAY beach trip!!! xo, C
Yay, looks like the passports were found?! So many add-to-cart items in this one. I’m headed to Cabo for a retreat next month and that skirt and those pants are headed my way 😉
Oh no, we didn’t find our old ones! We had to expedite new ones, but the process was pretty painless and shipping was fast, thank goodness! xo, C
I want to go there! Just looked up the hotel- which kind of room were you in? There are lots of amazing looking options!
It truly is a dream! When it’s lower season and the rates are a little better, we prefer being in the main house (I think those are called pool suites). Those rooms overlook the pool and ocean, and are close to everything. The jungle rooms with plunge pool are gorgeous, too! Personally I don’t think the Beachfront rooms are worth the rate…they don’t have a plunge pool are near as much privacy. I hope that helps! xo. C
