Fall Transition | Tiered Ruffles

Hello, hello! We’re back for day 2 of this week’s new Five Ways series…Transitioning to Fall! This in-between time can be tricky, that’s for sure…do you dress for the weather or the calendar? For the chilly mornings or warm afternoons?! More like all of the above!

Texas doesn’t get true Fall temps for at least another month, but with new booties burning a hole in my closet, I’m going to find a way to wear them now! I could certainly wear this ruffle tiered dress with nude sandals or pumps, but the peep-toe bootie and cognac bag give the whole outfit a nod to Fall.

Chiffon is usually synonymous with Spring and Summer, but the deep hues of orange and blue make this dress a great transition into Fall. And who doesn’t want to wear tiered ruffles as many season as possible?! And bonus…this dress has now been marked down to $21!!! Yes, I said TWENTY-ONE! (And it’s worth every penny at full price!)

Fit Tip: It’s true to size, I’m wearing an XS. It has a button closure at the neck, but I prefer it open.

Peep-toe booties are pretty much the shoe mascot for Fall, especially during this transitional time. I love the leg-lengthening neutral shade of these, and the block-heels make them comfy for walking. I’ll wear these until Winter, and then again in the Spring…so their shelf life is pretty long.

Fit Tip: These booties are soft and pliable, but do run large…I sized down half.

Peep-Toe Booties (love these, too)

When the temps dip, there’s no need to pack this sassy number away…just add a layer! You could easily pair it with a jean or utility jacket for a casual, edgy style, or keep it work-ready with a neutral cardigan.

Sugarplum Style Tip: There’s no rule when it comes to sweater length, but I do prefer to keep it shorter than the dress.

I’m headed to NYC in a couple of weeks, and this dress is coming with me…I think it will pack like a dream! In case you missed it, you can catch the first outfit in this Fall Transition series here, and see more Five Ways here.

I love this dress! The orange color transitions perfectly for fall, especially with the sweater and a tan bag. I can see myself wearing it with my mushroom colored ootk boots or tan loafers. I’m really liking that fall florals seems to be a real trend this yea.

Cute dress! I love pairing dresses with long cardigans…sometimes about the contrast is just cozy. I usually don’t gravitate towards color and patterns like that but coming up on Fall I have been.

Oh, this is just right in so many ways. I find many prints just too matronly for any age, but not this one.
Watch out for Cassie’s blog. I see so many good things I just have to obsess over and buy. Sigh.

Cassie – Could you suggest a bootie, just like the ones in this post, with just a little shorter heel?

Most peep-toe booties have a heel…but I love these shorter booties for pairing with jeans and dresses, too. And they’re on sale! http://bit.ly/2h3BWyE

I wore this dress yesterday with my jean jacket. It was so comfortable! I wore it with the opening in the front too! 🙂 Since the tag was in the back that’s how I thought it was suppose to go!! 😉 Love your style!

I just realized the tag is in the back…so the website must be showing it wrong?!?! Either way, it’s cute! xo

If you zoom in on the first photo on the Loft website, you can see that the dress is worn with the opening in front. They’ve just chosen to style it buttoned up. (I’d bet that in the other photos of the front, the stylist taped the gap closed, so that you don’t see that tell-tale bit of skin.) And the back photo doesn’t show an opening. You’ve been wearing it correctly all along!

Hi! What size do you wear in the cardigan? It says it runs large, but wasn’t sure how large it ran!
