Fall Transition | Gray & White

So far in this Transitioning to Fall journey, we’ve seen a camo and peplum combo for Now & Later, and shown how to take a favorite Summer dress into the new season. Today is basic at its best…and while the outfit may be simple, its effortlessly chic.

Sidenote: My credibility, however, is greatly compromised seeing as how I unknowingly wore yesterday’s dress backwards!!! #somuchforfashionblogger

Gray and white is a light and fresh combination, but still totally Fall appropriate…especially when paired with a taupe bootie and classic bag. I’m a believer in white jeans year-round (see my Five Ways | White Jeans in Fall series here), but usually pair them with light colored shoes to elongate the leg. These booties are lightweight with a cushy footbed, so they’re as comfy as they are stylish! In fact, I love them so much I grabbed them in both taupe and black!

Fit Tip: They run a little small, so I sized up half-size (and wear them sans socks).

The black bag signals Fall, as well…and I’m so excited to finally pull this classic tote out again! You know I’m a huge fan of Barrington, and I’m cuckoo over their new Fall Collection prints. Plus, I can never resist slapping a monogram on anything not moving. (Use code SUGARPLUM10 for 10% off your order!) This combo is the ‘black geometric,’ and the monogrammed stripe is ‘oxblood & blush’ (the color is a bit off in these photos), and I chose black leather trim.

This outfit is also a great base for virtually any style jacket, from jean to military. Throw on a plaid scarf and you’re full blown Fall! (Or this leopard one, that I’m completely smitten over!)

I’m still wearing my Ben Bridge Jeweler heart beat necklace on repeat…I love the simple, delicate style, and it goes with everything. I get so many compliments on it, and I love to watch people’s expressions when they realize it’s a heart rate!

You could also call this combo my Fall Uniform, as it’s what I reach for most often for everyday life. Are you in the camp for white jeans after Labor Day, or prefer to keep them solely for Summer?

Love the utility jacket and seeing new ways to wear it! Sans socks? Really? Can you share some sock/bootie ideas for those of us who are stuck in the dark ages? “Skinny jeans, booties, and *what kind of socks* for any time of year” kind of help is needed here… please!! 😉

LOL — these booties are a great option if you prefer wearing a ped sock (and they’re on super sale!)! http://bit.ly/2h3BWyE

Like you I live in a hot Southern climate so I am pretty much all skirt and dress in the heat of summer and have just pulled out my white jeans that I love, love, love. I would wear them further into the season except that I never see anyone else doing that here, and feel like it would look like a “miss”. I wish had more confidence with them! I did pick up a pair of “cream” jeans I unexpectedly ran into in a boutique and plan to wear them longer into Fall. Thanks for all your outfit inspiration….

Ummm… Loft shows the dress with the opening in the front. Are they wearing it backwards, too?
    Confused…
Cute spring or fall transition outfit.

I love that outfit and those white jeans. How does the backside look on the Two by Vince jeans? Often I love how the front looks when I try things on but don’t like how the back pockets make my behind look. Are the pockets placed well and not too big?
