Dressing Room Diaries

Happy almost-Friday, friends, and cheers to kicking off the weekend early! Do you have time off for the Easter holiday? We’re off tomorrow, so I’m bringing you this month’s Dressing Room Diaries a little early! And it’s a good one, so grab your coffee and let’s go!

It’s chock full of the cutest new arrivals, from a mix of retailers with a range of price points! My job is to find the cutest things, at the best prices, and I think you’ll love these! (I know I did!!)

You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries… the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!

Fit Note: I’m 5’4″-ish, 125 pounds-ish, with a slight pear shape. My usual size is XS/2. 

 

Tops //

Remember the scene in Pretty Woman where she ‘stomps the divots’ wearing that darling polka dot outfit? This top is totally giving me Julia Roberts vibes from that! It’s a lightweight woven material, in a chic tone with a delicate ivory floral pattern. The buttons are operational, and it’s easily transitioned from work to weekend.

Remember these tops from last week’s Eight Darling Spring Tops? I love them both so much I wanted to make sure and include them here. Both have the fluttery sleeves and ruffled neckline I’m loving this season, with a relaxed shape. The floral is a silky material, while the solid is a textured cotton blend. It comes in a ton of shades, and I had a hard time choosing a favorite!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing a small, but would prefer my usual XS for a better fit under the arm.

I love a good statement top, and these are about as cute as they come! Both look straight out of Anthropologie, but for quite a bit less! They’re made of a thick, structured cotton, with a smocked neckline and buttons up the back.

Orange and yellow are tricky colors for me, but this eyelet cutie is the perfect shade of orangey-coral that’s flattering on all skin tones and hair shades! It’s fully-lined, with a peplum hem and ruffled neck for a flattering and feminine style.

More fluttered sleeve goodness, but this one in a dressier woven material. It’s fully lined with a relaxed fit through the torso, plus it ties at the heck. Dress it up or down, it’s a super versatile top for Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Be still my preppy-loving heart! Gingham is forever a favorite pattern of mine… make it pink, and I’m in! I love this crisp cotton shirt for pairing with everything from jeans to skirts (so darling mixed with a floral pattern!). And of course pop that collar for extra style!

For my girls that love longer tops, this tunic-style camp shirt is a classic. It’s a cotton/linen blend, but doesn’t wrinkle easily. I love the cuffs on the drop sleeve, and it has gathers along the back for a more structured, feminine fit.

Of course I’m partial to this one… our GLxHSP Cavallo top is back! This best-selling style is perfect for Spring, with a tall, ruffled neckline and feminine bow at the back. It’s fully lined with a longer back to wear tucked or out.

This floral top not only has all the fluttery, feminine details, but the crepe material has stretch as well. I love the navy and black combo for pairing with any bottom, and the floral print is delicate and pretty.

Dresses //

Remember our Patio Refresh last week?! I think this dress was the star of the post, and everyone wanted details! I’m excited to say it’s finally back in stock, but sure to go fast! It’s a structured cotton, that’s both thick and crisp, with a comfortable smocked top and stretchy, smocked straps. It’s absolutely perfect for all your spring and summertime events, and so much fun to wear!

I’ve got this dress coming soon in my next Zappos post, but it was too cute to wait! I love the shades of blue and green, and the fit-and-flare shape is both flirty and flattering. The waist has a stretchy elastic smocking, and it’s fully lined.

This dress easily transitions from weekend to work (so cute layered with this blazer)! The woven, fully lined material gives it a dressier feel, but the shorter skirt keeps it flirty. It is a touch on the short side, so if you’re over 5’5″, you’ll probably want to keep it paired with a flat.

It’s wedding and shower season, which means y’all are asking for special occasion dresses! Halter necklines are always a go-to for me… by showing off the shoulders, they’re so flattering on every body shape! These two definitely caught my eye, both fully lined in a gorgeous floral. Wear them with the included tie, or add your own belt.

This shade of lilac has my heart this season, and this dress is so easy to wear for a number of occasions. The long sleeves provide coverage, but are sheer for the season. The body is fully lined, and the tiered skirt is flirty and feminine.

Take me to the beach and order me a margarita! This dress screams beach vacation, and I’m here for it! The colorful embroidery is so cute, especially layered over the blue floral. It’s fully lined and even has pockets! Wear it with sandals or sneakers, and even over a swimsuit.

More coral goodness, this woven dress has a flattering faux-wrap top, with a stretchy belted waist. The fluttered sleeve and tiered skirt give it more stylish details, and it’s easily dressed up, or pair it with flat sandals and a jean jacket for more casual wear.

Hot pink eyelet?! Yes ma’am!! This sturdy cotton dress has fun puff sleeves and a classic shirtdress style. It’s fully lined with pockets, and is a gorgeous shade of pink for all skin tones.

This silhouette is so on-trend right now, and for good reason! It’s easy to wear, with a flattering shape. I love the soft pink of this floral, the wide smocked waist and the ruffle cuffs. The sleeves are full-length, I just prefer them pushed up, and it’s fully lined! Wear it with heels or wedges for a dressier style.

Okay, so this one isn’t exactly loungewear, but rather, the set I’ll wear all summer long! Nevermind that it needs steaming, it literally arrived late yesterday afternoon and I couldn’t wait to try it and share! Made of a super-soft, gauzy cotton, it’s the perfect relaxed fit with an elastic pull-on short. It comes in a ton of colors, and you’ll love them all! I’ll wear it with sandals and sneakers.
