Dressing Room Diaries

Happy Friday, friends, and cheers to the weekend! Unfortunately it will be a roller coaster of emotions for us. Little Miss has a big volleyball tournament, my sister is in town to shop for a wedding dress, and Mr. College’s darling, long-time girlfriend turns 21… all great things we are excited to celebrate!

But we’re also saying goodbye to Bridget in her Celebration of Life service tomorrow. I am full of so much fresh sadness and anxiety, and worried how we’ll all, especially Little Miss, get through it. I can’t believe I actually thought I had finally run out of tears.

It seems every time my mind comes to peace with it, my heart kicks in, and it starts all over. I’ve known grief in my lifetime, but this is sadness like I’ve never experienced. I think because it’s also happening to my daughter, and I can’t save her from it, makes it that much more intense. Your continued prayers and kindness are so appreciated… especially as I try to stay strong to support Little Miss.

I will say, it felt so good to get back to what I love this week, and I was grateful for the escape that great style can provide! Today I’ve got an all new Dressing Room Diaries for you, and it’s chock full of the cutest new arrivals! It’s a mix of retailers with a range of price points, and some of the cutest finds so far this season! My job is to find the cutest things, at the best prices, and I think you’ll love these! You know the drill with Dressing Room Diaries… the shots aren’t good, the lighting is bad, and I’m in desperate need of a hairbrush. But it’s real life, real girl, real clothes… and hopefully helpful for you to see them this way, instead of perfectly styled on a model. So let’s get started!

I wore this top earlier in the week and it sold out almost immediately! Good news, it’s back in limited supply! It’s a woven sweater knit with the cutest pink and poppy stripes and full flutter sleeves.

I accidentally wore this one before it launched, and my DMs absolutely exploded! The good news is it’s now live, and just as cute in person as it appears here! The material is a soft, lightweight sweater knit, with striped flutter sleeves.

It doesn’t get any more spring than a top of wildflowers! I adore this floral pattern and the mix of flattering shades, plus the elbow sleeves are so flattering. It’s a lightweight cotton-blend, and easily dresses up with skirts and trousers, or keep it casual with denim.

Statement tops like this are my faves for spring and summer! They have so much style and personality, you simply add denim for an instant darling outfit! I love the flowy fit, the embroidery, and the tasseled trim on the flutter sleeves. Plus, the colors are perfect for all the summer holidays!

These jean shorts are a great find.. .super similar to the popular Agolde, but half the price! Plus, I like the slightly longer inseam.

I never met a statement sleeve I didn’t love, and this one delivers. Made of a crisp cotton poplin, the sleeves are light, but with great structure. Wear it tied or open, and you can keep it casual worn loose, or tuck it in your favorite skirt for more of a party look.

Another flirty top, this one is textured with full sleeves and a flattering square neckline. The colors are so fresh for the season, and darling with all shades of denim.

I loved this print from last month’s Dressing Room Diaries dress so much I couldn’t wait to see it in the top! The colors are so bright and fun, and the material a lightweight cotton. The flutter sleeves and ruffled neck give it such a feminine fit, perfect for pairing with skirts.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but it’s a little snug across the chest, so I’d size up one.

I wish you could reach through the screen and feel this top… it’s the softest, silkiest brushed knit! The perfect weight for spring and summer, with an easy drapey fit. The added pleat at the shoulder gives it a bit of a muscle tee vibe, but the v-neck keeps it sassy.

The softest classic v-neck, but somehow has a touch of sex appeal, don’t you think?! The dip is a touch lower than usual, but still bra-friendly. The sleeves are a little longer, too, which I love. It comes in several color options… I also have the white and navy.

This top has a thick, sweater-knit feel, with ribbed texture and lots of stretch. It has the cutest ruffle trim on the shoulder, and easily dresses up or down.

The colors! The pattern! The statement sleeves! I’m smitten with everything about this dress! It’s a crisp cotton poplin, with a full shape and a-line silhouette. Dress it up or down, it’s just so much fun! Comes in solid colors as well.

Remember the darling wildflower print top from above? Well it also comes in this fun fit-and-flare shirtdress! It’s long-sleeve with wide cuffs, and can be worn belted or loose. It’s a cotton blend and fully lined. It’s a touch on the short side, so I prefer it with flat sandals.

I have the biggest crush on this brand… they truly have the most fun patterns and color ways! Doesn’t this print just scream FUN!? It’s a cotton blend with flutter sleeves and a tiered skirt, plus cute little beaded tassel ties. The waist has a built-in drawstring you can cinch for a fit-and-flare shape, or keep it loose.

I don’t typically wear body-con dresses, but I’d make an exception for this one! I had it on when Little Miss got home from school and even she loved it! Obviously I’m crazy for the color, but the material is a super-thick and stretchy knit that hugs and smooths. The top has a relaxed fit that drapes away from the body, and the ruching is both flattering and forgiving.

Fit Tip: I’m wearing an XS, but size down if in-between or you like a body-hugging fit.

The silhouette of this dress is definitely in my wheelhouse! I love a loose and flowy dress for spring and summer, and this one has a fun pattern and pink and orange combo. It’s silky soft and fluttery, with a swing shape and wide flutter sleeve.

This dress is equal parts cute and sassy! I love the longer sleeves and puffed shoulder, and the looser fit is the perfect balance to the shorter length. You could definitely dress it up for evening occasions, or keep it casual for a fun day out.

Always a sucker for embroidery, this colorful, tasseled cutie caught my eye right away! Made of a linen-like fabric, it’s a medium weight (no sheerness!), with an easy swing shape. Wear it with sandals, or slip it on over your swimsuit for a fun cover-up.

Does this watercolor print look familiar? It’s the same as my new Cavallo Top (that y’all have already almost sold out!). This dress would be so lovely for Easter or spring Showers. The woven material is light and breezy, with an elastic waist and sheer overlay across the top.

Surprise, surprise… more lilac! I truly can’t get enough of it this season, and especially love it mixed with this bold coral. This dress is silky soft with a swing same and full sleeves.

I love a good house dress, and this one is so easy to wear. Made of a linen-like fabric, it’s medium weight with a stretchy, smocked top. It comes in three pretty earth tones for an easy transitional dress.

You’ve already seen this maxi dress a few times (I wore it in Mexico HERE), but I realized I’ve yet to truly share it. It’s total vacation/resort vibes with a flowy shape and gorgeous watercolor pattern. It has adjustable straps, but it’s still a deep v, so you’ll need these nippies. It runs big, so I’d size down…if you’re an XS, just know you’ll have a little side boob with it!

Jumpsuits, Pants, & Skirts //

Meet your new travel outfit! This jumpsuit is as silky soft and comfy as they come, in a lightweight jersey knit with tons of stretch. The top is bra-friendly, and the elastic drawstring waist gives a more custom fit. It’s plenty long for my tall girls, but a quick hem is an easy fix for the rest of us. The wide-leg pant is both flattering and forgiving.

These wide leg pants are all kinds of fun… plus silky soft and flowy. They have a high waist with a wide, elastic waistband for a comfy and flattering fit. They come in several great spring colors, and look great casual with a tank, or dressed up for work with a blouse.

And finally, this pull-on gauzy skirt will definitely be a go-to for me this season! I love long skirts as an alternative to shorts or jeans in warmer weather, and this is a classic staple. The waist is elastic in the back, it’s fully-lined, and easily works with tanks and tees, bodysuits, and even over a swimsuit as a chic cover-up.
