Summer of Style | 04

Today I’m excited to share another post for Summer of Style, a weekly series showcasing a simple outfit to (hopefully) inspire your Summer wardrobe! They’re easy-to-recreate combinations, that cover all aspects of your life…work, weekend, date night, and lazy pool/beach days.

My goal is always to inspire you, and share ways to stretch your wardrobe…but sometimes a girl just wants a simple outfit idea! Especially in Summer, when the pace is slower, and style becomes a little more minimal. (At least in the Texas heat it does!)

And today’s dress is so versatile, it looks equally darling with wedges, sandals and sneakers. And if chilly restaurants and stores bother you, it’s even cuter with a jean jacket thrown in the mix!

Blue is one of my favorite colors to decorate with (as evidenced by my Living and Dining Rooms!), and my closet is chock-full of it, too. I seem especially drawn to it this Summer, as most of what I’ve picked up is blue and white. I think it’s such a clean and crisp combination, and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t look lovely in blue!

When Lucky Brand launched their big Summer sale, I knew immediately this dress would be mine. The neckline is a favorite silhouette, and the pattern is so fun, but not overwhelming. And let’s not overlook the power of pockets!

Fit Tip: I’m wearing my usual XS, but if you’re busty, go up a size. It’s fully-lined (which is a little tight), but the dress has plenty of room. It’s also significantly shorter on the model, but hits me just above the knee (I’m 5’4″).

Of course I love anything with a pop of color, so I added the tassel necklace (also love this one). A colorful bag like this one would be a fun addition to the outfit. My sandals are several years old, but these are favorites, too.
