Hi Sugarplum!

Work to Weekend | Floral Dress

May 30, 2017

*This post is brought to you by CJ Affiliate’s VIP Content Service. Thank you Lucky Brand for sponsoring this post. While this was a sponsored opportunity from Lucky Brand, all content and opinions expressed here are my own.*

Welcome back! How was your weekend? I hope it was full of fun! We spent a few days at the lake, just wallowing and eating all the bad stuff. So pretty much perfect! Especially considering this is the last week of school, and things will inevitably be hectic!

Today I’m excited to share a lovely new dress with you, and of course, it’s styled two ways! I couldn’t decide if it was Day to Night, or Work to Weekend…for some reason I’m incapable of creating a post without some sort of label! I even thought about creating a new one, called Play to Party, but that was kind of a stretch.

Either way, this darling floral, with halter neck and flowy fabric, is a little on the dressier side, but still easily transitions for multiple occasions. The obvious styling pairs it with heels and jazzed-up accessories for either the office or a party.

Update: The Memorial Day sale has been extended until tonight, so the dress is currently on sale!

Halter-Style Floral Dress c/o | Tassel-Tie Sandals (on sale!) | Similar Fringe Earrings | Cuff | Similar Bag with Tassel

I’m a believer that everyone, regardless of size, has lovely shoulders…and what better way to show them off than with racerback and halter styles?! It’s especially flattering when they show a little collarbone. The details of this neckline are so feminine, too, and I love that the print is bright, but not overwhelmingly bold.

The elastic waistband creates an hourglass shape (even if you don’t have one!), and makes for a comfortable, forgiving fit. It’s fully-lined, too, and the breezy, lightweight fabric barely skims the body.

Fit Tip: It’s true to size, I’m wearing an XS. My favorite little genius bra works perfectly, but a traditional strapless bra would be good, as well.

These tasseled heels have been on repeat…they’re the perfect neutral, and the tassel adds the right amount of fun, without being distracting. (See them styled here and here, too.)

With the knee-length (I’m 5’4″), it’s appropriate for most offices and church, but a light cardigan, or this white blazer, would be lovely if you prefer to cover your shoulders.

But this is the kind of dress I want to wear all the time, so of course I had to style it for more casual days. You know the formula by now, right?! Swap the shoes, add a jean jacket! #done

Halter-Style Floral Dress | Similar Jacket (white blazer) | Similar Bag (also seen here) | Favorite Flat Sandals | Similar Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings

A traditional jean jacket would be cute, too, but I like the crispness of the white and navy. (See more ways to style a white jacket in my 5 Ways | White Jacket series here) I wouldn’t pair this dress with sneakers, but a flat, neutral sandal is just as comfy. These strappy sandals have become my go-tos for everything from dresses to jean shorts (see that pairing here).

This is one of those dresses that just works for so many occasions, and I know I’ll find myself reaching for it all Summer. It’s funny that up until a few months ago, I’d never been on the Lucky Brand website, and now it’s one of the first I check! I’ve scored some great pieces, almost always on sale, and lucky us, they’ve extended the Memorial Day Sale until tonight! This dress is currently sitting in my cart, and this one is on my wish list!  Happy short-week, lovebugs!

I love the halterneck style of the dress. It definitely makes a great one suitable for both formal and casual occasions!
