{Top Ten} January

You guys, it’s February already! Wasn’t it just Christmas, like, yesterday?! The photoshoot wrapped late Friday afternoon, and after a few hours of cleaning up and decompressing from that experience, it was packing, packing and more packing. And then we packed some more.

I’ve got the Big Box Bathroom reveal for you this week, but it’s nice to slow down for a moment and reflect on everything that happened last month…here’s the Top Ten posts of January.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten January

We started the year off buying a new house! It was completely unplanned and unexpected,
but now we’re thrilled to start a new chapter.

Cold days, warm belly with this jazzed-up Southwest Potato Corn Chowder.

I took a minute to reflect on 2014, and all that happened.
There’s no doubt my cup runneth over.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten January

The day after closing on the new house, we sold our home….and closed on it 15 days later.
Yep, sold in a day! Granted we got lucky, but here’s some of the tips on
how we prepped for a quick sale.

We finally got all the room makeovers completed, and I’ll be sharing them over the new few weeks…starting with the Dining Room Reveal.

Then we switched over to the new house, and I shared the Kitchen Befores, along with
The Plans and Inspiration.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten January

The Master Bedroom got a new bed…and a whole new look.

We resumed the {Outfit Inspiration} series, this time fellow bloggers are
providing the inspiration, and challenging me to create an outfit around it.
We kicked it off with Shades of Blue.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten January

My rockstar-contractor is back in the house, and I’m sharing the progress of
the Kitchen Renovation project here and here.

Hi Sugarplum | Top Ten January

And finally, we talked every day style with #SugarplumStyle, Vol. 8 and Vol. 9.

There’s no question it’s been a busy month, juggling two houses, a renovation, a photoshoot, a job, and the family…but the excitement overrides the stress. I’m sure this week will be an emotional one, as we finish packing and say good-bye to our beloved home of the past 10 years…but floors are going in a the new house, so that will ease the pain. 😉 Have a great week, lovebugs!

Hey there, and happy Friday! Like most of you, we had a frigid week, so we’re definitely looking forward to warmer temps this weekend! Before it gets cold again, anyway. Ah, Texas weather…as unpredictable as Lady Gaga’s wardrobe.

I like to re-cap each month’s top posts, just in case you missed any, and to make it easier for newer readers to catch up. Thank you so much for stopping by when you do!

Home Depot’s new chalk paint helped complete the Hall Nook Makeover.

Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 January Projects

Such a thrill to be included in Family Circle magazine, alongside my blogging friends for a great round-up of best organizing tips!

It may be Winter, but I’m still mixing brights…Cobalt & Yellow…with leopard jeans, no less!

I peeled back the blog facade and revealed some of my crazy. Don’t worry, not all of it. But as many of you shared, I’m not alone!

Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 January Projects

We graded our progress on 2013’s Home Goals. Turns out, I’m a fairly lenient teacher.

Simplest Potato Soup in the crock pot? Git in mah belly!

I opened my heart and shared some grief, along with the story behind my blog name.

Hi Sugarplum | Top 10 January Projects

Super Bowl fever is brewing at our house…or maybe I’m just excited to see Bruno Mars perform. Either way, I’ve set a cute table, and rounded up some perfect game day snacks.

We had a great conversation about not only layering rugs, but how you deal with inherited pieces that aren’t quite your style.

Okay, so I tooted my own horn and re-capped my personal blog highlights of 2013.

This month was a little lighter on projects, and a lot heavier on
emotion and conversations…and I loved it! But don’t worry, the paint
and glue gun is back out for February. How did January treat you? Happy weekend, lovebugs!

Pssst…you can catch up on all the Top Tens here. Oh, and many of you tried to order my fave booties, but your size was sold-out. You never know when they’ll get re-stocked, but you might like these, these or these, which are really similar.

January started a little slow due to the holiday-hangover, but I made up for it with a flurry of small and easy projects. I’m so thankful for those of you who
stop in every day, every week, or every Leap Year. In case you dozed off somewhere along the way, here’s a recap of January.

Hi Sugarplum January Projects

I became instantly {Smitten}with a new-to-me pillow source. Affordable monograms? Sign me up!
The Anthropologie-inspired Confetti Vases were a hit on Pinterest.
I whipped my sewing machine out for the second time ever, and made a Deer Head Applique Kitchen Towel. With pom-poms no less!
Hi Sugarplum January Projects

We got a little sappy when talking about Clove Oranges.
I shoved my face with two batches of Peanut Butter Cup Frito Bars.
Plastic Animals got the best of me again.
I shared a personal health scare, all in the name of giving you a chance to win $1,000 from Clorox! (Seriously people, this is not chump change. Have you entered?)

Hi Sugarplum January Projects

I cleaned up my mantel for Winter, and got sneaky with some Faux Birch Logs.
More snacking ensued with Sweet & Spicy Pecans.
My obvious obsession with my name continued, with my cheery new Desk Nook.

Whew! I’m pooped…maybe I should take February off? No way…tomorrow kicks off a Week of Sweet! I have a whole gaggle of Valentine sweetness to share. Did you have a favorite January project? What are you favorite kinds of posts to read around here?

I went to the link of the monogram pillows to get some for my sons playroom and they were almost all gone! You're post must have really ramped up there sales last month 😉 I've actually done a version of the confetti vases. I did a red/white/blue/silver wine glass for the Olympics last year. Really fun and festive! I plan on also whipping out the sewing machine to do a kitchen towel or something similar with an old piece of fabric i've been holding on to waiting for the right project – and i finally found her! Hopefully i can post a pic to your FB soon. Have a great weekend! XoXoX
