Happy Halloween, friends, and welcome back to a new week! Did you have a fun weekend? We had a great time celebrating with friends Saturday night, and my face is still itching from my temporary mustache, ha! I could barely eat or drink with that thing on, I don’t know how guys do it!
We had some big deliveries for the house, too, starting with this new rug for the living room, and these dining room chairs finally arrived! We’re still waiting on several big items, including a custom rug for the dining room that I can hardly wait to see!
I found a seller on Etsy HERE who has not only incredible, unique rugs, but can also create custom designs! I won’t give away too much, but I will tell you ours contains over 80 colors!! We also got the majority of the art and mirrors hung around the house, and it’s incredible how that immediately made the house feel more settled. I’ll be sure to share here as things come together, but I’m always sharing real-time updates on my Instagram Story HERE.
Today I’ve got a hodgepodge of new finds and latest happenings to share, so let’s get to this month’s This & That…
Bump, Set, Spike //
Little Miss wrapped her first season of volleyball at the new school, and we all loved watching her smiling face play again! She has about a week off before club ball begins, and her cute cheerleaders will be ready!
Game Day Fun //
Mr. College was in town for the big OU vs. TX game a few weeks ago… and even though the game didn’t go how we hoped, the party set-up and snacks were a winner! I love the Packed Party line at Walmart for fun and easy party decor!
Family Weekend //
My sister and her boyfriend were in town the same weekend, and my heart was so happy having a full house of my favorite people!
Leggings Season //
The temps have officially dropped, so you know what that means… legging season! These are hands-down my favorite non-athletic style, and unlike other faux-leather leggings that will remain unnamed #spanx, I can actually move and breathe in these!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size Small legging, and fold them under for a cropped length.
HOCO 2022 //
If you’ve been following me for awhile, then hold on to your hats because you’ll flip over Little Miss’s Homecoming pics… we blinked and she grew up on us! She is so happy in her new school, and totally thriving with the fresh start. I could not be more proud, or more grateful.
We found her dress at WhatchamaCallit.
Puffer Passion //
In my hunt for a jacket to take on our trip last weekend, I uncovered a treasure chest of the cutest puffers and outerwear at Lands End! I love this fleece pullover and vest combo… the colors are so happy, plus it’s warm and comfy!
The olive bomber jacket came to the PNW with me, and was surprisingly warm and water-resistant. It’s stylish like a utility jacket, but more practical for cooler weather.
As for the pink puffer… what can I say other than CUUUUUTE! It’s a great longer length that fully covers the bum, plus fleece-lined with a detachable faux-fur collar. But if you’re more of a neutrals girl, they’ve got tons of options for you!
Fit Tip: I’m wearing a size XS in everything.
Amazon Around the House //
I shared many of my all-time favorite Amazon finds for around the house HERE, and this Wooden Rise Tray, Acrylic Book Stand and Plaid Mat are among the most recent additions that are bringing me so much joy right now!
Concert Styles //
After years of no concerts, two of my all-time favorite musicians came to town in the same week, and I jumped at the chance to see them both… Reba and The Chicks! I’m not really one for cut-offs and cowboy boots (the concert uniform for many), so I put these three options up for a vote on my Instagram Story. Which one would you have chosen?
Left: Ruffled Romper (Size: Small, Color: Orange)
Middle: Spotty Drop Waist Dress (Size: Small, Color: Leopard Coffee)
Right: Tassel Tie Waist Dress (Size: XS)|
With: Notch Booties (TTS) | Layered Necklace
The Set is Necessary //
Since discovering Nécessaire earlier this year, my showers… and skin… have much improved. Their body products are chock-full of vitamins, peptides, and hyaluronic acid, ingredients normally dedicated to the face, for healthy and hydrated skin.
I love the Body Wash in Eucalyptus for a spa-like experience, and their natural gel deodorant is my fave! Their body sets are great savings, and make excellent gifts, plus my code CASSIE10 will get you an extra 10% off! Shop it HERE.
Necessaire Set (code CASSIE10)
Fifteen Dollar Faves //
Run don’t walk!!! Victoria Emerson is having a monster sale, with prices slashed to $15 site wide!! These make the absolute BEST gifts for mom, sister, teachers, nail techs, babysitters, neighbors… anyone who loves a little something-something, will love receiving these cuffs!
I can’t wait for you to see our new VE x HSP Collection, the perfect little gift box for you or your friends! Look for it late November or early December!
Back in Stock //
Y’all… how cute is this beanie?! Stinking cute, is right! It was a fave from last year, and I’m so excited to see it back. It’s fleece lined with a faux-fur pom, so it’s as warm and comfy as it is cute and colorful. Find it HERE and the matching gloves HERE. Code SUGARPLUM10 saves you 10%!
Fa La La Fall into My Cart! //
Target has slowly been releasing their holiday collections, and darn it if these items didn’t fall in my cart! It arrived quickly and I adore each and every find. It’s got me beyond excited to decorate! I’ll probably wait a few more weeks, how about you?
What I’m Reading Lately //
I flew through the American Royals series in no time (the first two were good, the third got a little slow), and promptly fell in to a Colleen Hoover phase. I just finished November 9 and Reminders of Him, and both were fast, easy reads with unexpected plot twists. November 9 was a little Young Adult, at times, but I was still fully invested!
What Colleen Hoover book should I start next? What are you reading these days?
As if seeing her dolled-up for Homecoming weren’t enough of a shock, we took Little Miss on her first official college visit this month! She toured campuses when her brother was college-scouting, but this time it’s all for her!
We won’t think about how fast the next two years will fly by, mmmkay?!
Gifts Galore //
Corkcicle is another great gift for just about anyone on your list, with insulated sports canteens, coffee mugs, and can koozies, all in the cutest designs and patterns. There’s even Star Wars and sports teams for the guys! Plus, code CASSIE25 saves you 25% site-wide!

Whidbey Island Wannabe //
I’ve seen lots of questions about our quick trip to Whidbey Island last weekend… stay tuned for my full Trip Report next week! But spoiler alert: it was beyond charming!!
Loungewear Love //
If you’re living for loungewear this season, then you’ll definitely want to check out Tommy John! Their fabrics are unbelievably soft, and the quality is spot-on. The biggest discount is typically 20%, but we lucked out with 3o% off this week only! Code SUGARPLUM30 for site-wide savings, even the cult-classic men’s undies!

Interior Design Inspo //
We stayed at the uber-chic State Hotel in downtown Seattle on our last night (it’s literally a block from Pike Place Market!), and it was oozing design inspiration. I was especially drawn to their use of wallpapers throughout, including this large-scale print in the restaurant.
I’ve only ever used small-scale patterns, but it might be fun to find something larger for the new house!
Garage Makeover //
We added an epoxy finish to the garage floors of our last house, and could hardly believe how much we missed it when we moved. But rather than going with epoxy again (it chipped so easily), we used Guardian Garage Floors.
Their method is less slippery, has a little more grip to it, and comes with a lifetime warranty! Plus, it only took a few hours from start to finish!
Oh Hey, Walmart! //
Walmart continues to impress with some of the best finds around this season. Don’t sleep on these styles, they are truly impressive, plus at great prices!
Top Left: Crewneck Tee (Size: Small) | Sweatpants (Size: Small) | NB Sneakers | Layered Necklace (Also HERE)
Top Right: Fleece Pocket Pullover (Size: Small) | Chew Hem Jeans | White Sneakers
Bottom Left: Hoodie Pullover (Size: XS) | Chew Hem Jeans | White Sneakers
Bottom Right: Pleated Midi Dress (Size: XS) | Moto Jacket (Size: XS) | Strappy Heels (size up half) | Ivory Headband (code CASSIE15) | Layered Necklace (Also HERE) | Gold Hoop Earrings
Be Still, My Preppy Heart //
I ordered new stationary for work and personal from Joy Creative Shop, and had way too much fun playing with styles and the countless color combos! I got flat notecards and notepads, plus the cutest gift wrap and tags from their Holiday Shop.
Sugarplum Tip: You can choose between smooth and textured on the cards… I find the textured surface harder to write on, so I’ll go with smooth next time.
Night Night //
Our Sleep Number bed finally arrived last week, and let’s just say it’s taking a little time to get used to it! I think I’ve slept with every possible number, and still haven’t found my sweet spot.
But my bedding is still dreamy! These sheets and duvet are like staying in a luxury hotel, and get better with every wash! And while I don’t love the look of the paper shades, they work like a charm for temporary use!
Office Style //
I love the light walls and floors, and brightness of my new office… it’s been perfect for shooting Dressing Room Diaries and Amazon Hauls for y’all…but the overwhelming question is, ‘Where did you find that art behind you?!’
It’s a Minted find, of course! It comes in a range of sizes, and even large mural pieces! I’m tempted to use that somewhere for a fun impact.
We had so many requests, I reached out to Minted and they were kind enough to give us a code! CASSIEART10 will save you 10% on art, and CASSIECARDS22 20% off your holiday cards! Shop them HERE.
Fifty Fiesta //
And finally… I’m celebrating a milestone birthday next month (even though I’m still having a little trouble saying the number out loud!). My wish was a quick little getaway with Mr. SP… but my friends and family won out, and insisted on a party.
So we’ve handed over the reigns to Pop Parties, and the darling and talented Molly came up with the most gorgeous and fun inspiration. I can’t wait to see her bring it to life, and celebrate with friends and family. I just wish all of you could come, too!
And instead of making it about just my birthday, I decided to use it as a give-back opportunity, as well. So in lieu of gifts, we’re hosting a silent auction to benefit The Promise House! Honestly, I’m most excited for that, and am so grateful for my generous brand partners who have donated!
How’s that for a random round-up? But that’s the This & That of life around here lately! Happy Monday, friends… I hope it’s a peaceful one!
