{Product Review & Giveaway} Mary Kay

***This giveaway is now closed. A winner was chosen at random and notified via email. Thanks!!***

I love getting dressed up. I tend to lean toward feminine silhouettes and colors, but I wouldn’t consider myself a girly-girl. Meaning, it only takes me 20 minutes to get ready, I don’t have to be wearing makeup to leave the house, and I have an aversion to frequent shampooing.

With that said, I still jumped at the chance to receive a gift pack of Mary Kay’s newest products!

Excited to dig into this box of goodies, thanks @marykay

But as soon as I opened the box, I feared I was in over my head. I’ve had the same makeup routine since high school: blush, a single light-colored eye shadow, charcoal eyeliner and mascara. And in recent years, I’ve had to add concealer to mask the time marching across my face. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed by all these options!

Once I started going through it, though, I realized Mary Kay made it all so simple and convenient. The Compact Mini is an ingenious refillable magnetic compact that is easily customized and can go from your makeup bag straight into your purse. It’s perfect for all women, whether you like to keep things simple or love to change your beauty routine frequently. The long-lasting mineral-based eye shadows stay true, providing fade-and crease-resistant coverage. They even include Vitamins A, C and E to protect against wrinkle-causing free radicals. I’ll take all the help I can get in that area!

I’m not too savvy with eye shadow, but I am a connoisseur of mascara! Mary Kay Lash Primer creates stronger, more voluminous, longer-looking lashes. This primer also strengthens and helps condition lashes, while also lifting them and helping them stay curled longer. I was impressed with both the Ultimate and Lash Love mascaras. Neither flaked, smudged or budged all day.

And while I don’t know that I’ll forgo the makeup readily available at drugstores, I will be ordering the TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set when this one runs out! After the first use, my skin was definitely smoother. I’ve been using it for two weeks now, and my fine lines and pores appear less noticeable.

I also love the TimeWise Eye Renewal Cream. It has a fun applicator tip that somehow stays ice cold, and gently applies a thick cream to my very unfunny laugh lines.

My greatest beauty tip has been that I wash my skin and hydrate it with oil. It sounds horrible, but I use the Josie Maran Cleansing Oil Wash and the Argon Oil as a moisturizer. If I really need hydrating (I live in New England…winters are killer for skin) then I slather up right after the shower with Aquafor. I tend to break out easily, but none of these products have made me breakout. ….On a side note…my husband hates the temporary "oil slick" face I have until it's absorbed.

I am a Mary Kay rep and I LOVE all our products! I decided to sell it because I discovered that the Mary Kay brand was the only brand of skin care and makeup that didn't bother my super-sensitive skin. Besides from being much better quality than drug store brands, the great thing about MK is that if you have a good sales rep, she'll deliver your product right to you door! That's what I do, anyway. My tip to all women – invest in electric curlers. They don't have to be expensive. Mine were $25 and they have lasted 10 years! You plug them in when you wake up, let them heat for 15 minutes, put them in your hair (takes 3 minutes), leave them in for 10 minutes (do your makeup, eat breakfast, etc), take out and spray! You have beautiful waves/curls that last all day and no fussing with the curling iron!
