Even though I have no more storage space in my attic, I can still never resist a good after-Christmas sale. Such was the case last year when I found myself at Target…scooping up decorations in deep tones of green, purple and blue. So paired with decor from last year’s Pink Christmas, this year we’re enjoying the bright and festive jewel tones!
In trying to keep things simple this year, I focused mainly on the tree and mantel…with a few vignettes thrown in here and there. I love how vibrant the mantel turned out….a fun mix of traditional and contemporary.
I layered fresh Magnolia from our backyard tree with the faux greenery for a fuller look. It’s already started to dry, but will stay green for the month (discovered after making this Magnolia Wreath). Strings of bright beads and sequins, and jeweled ornaments add more color to the mix.
Our regular stockings have been collected over time, as our family grew, so they don’t coordinate well with each other. So this year I picked up these fun jingle bell stockings from Target.
Having them embroidered would cost more than the actual stockings, so I tied mirror letters from Michaels to each one instead. Babygirl is worried Santa will be confused by the two J’s, so it’s a good thing no one else has her initial.
I updated last year’s DIY Sequin Trees with some bright palettes to go with the new theme.
A set of hurricanes are filled with miniature ornaments from the Target Dollar Spot. I used a glass bowl as a riser underneath one to give it more height. #sneakyblogger
So fresh and cheerful…I think this color combo will make a repeat next year! Unless of course I’m carried away by another after-Christmas sale.
Obviously I’m a fan of the colors, since the decorations fit seamlessly with the rest of our home’s decor.
What colors are you decorating with this year? You can check out our Pink, Winter, Glittered and Traditional Mantels from year’s past for more ideas.
I’m off to share my mantel with Michelle at Ten June today….she’s hosting the next round of Christmas Cheer link parties! Come share yours and see all the beautiful mantels shared by others.
It looks great, Cassie. Those stockings are so cute and really tie it all together. I am so drawn to the bright pops this year, too. And you reminded me I need to raid my magnolia tree!
Love the colors! Thanks to last year's Target sale I was able to deck our halls with the same colors 🙂
So colorful and fun!

Love those sequin trees!
Loving these colors! I can't wait to hit up the after Christmas sales this year! Already planning next years!! 🙂
Love all your vibrant colors! I stuck with my usual red & green collected over the years – have so much of it & would have to find additional storage if I changed colors. Merry Christmas to you & family!
I can't resist anything with color and shine, so this is a homerun in my book! I love all the bright colors! Isn't Christmas so much better with a ton of color instead of just red and green??? (c:
I love, love, love the stockings with all the jiggle bells. The colors are fantastic!
I LOVE that you used jewel tones! Your decorations are seriously gorgeous this year! 🙂

So fun, Cassie! I love the jewel tones, and I love that you picked up a ton of this at last year's Christmas sale! I'm planning on doing that this year, too — our tree needs a new theme for next year! 😉 #alwaysplanningahead

Really great post! 🙂
Totally with ya Cass! I'm all about the jewel tones for Christmas…makes dressing up and coordinating that much more fun when I'm totally over the classic red/green/white/black schemes! Love that blinged out mini tree idea! So festive and chic!

Hi Kimi! Pottery Barn sent me those hurricanes for winning a tablescape contest on their Facebook page! It was recent, so I'm sure they still have them…and in different sizes!
Hope this helps!

I love the colors you chose! Against the white fireplace they pop beautifully. I love your blog and when I posted about DIY ornaments I included your most recent post to the list. You have great taste and ideas!

The hurricane candles are nice… But what about the stunning mirror? Couldn't get past that! Will you share your source for that beauty?
I was just about to say… these fabulous colors totally match the rest of your decor! Just beautiful. And I love that you reuse so many of your DIY decorations from years past… sometimes I find myself trying to reinvent the wheel each year, which is no bueno. Maybe I just need more gorgeous jewel tones like yours! : )
